I'm still using the iPhone 3GS and am planning an upgrade. Any reasons why I shouldn't go with the Galaxy S4?

Not a ton. I don't really buy apps, and most of my accessories will become useless with the new model (cases, chargers, etc.). I have an iPhone 4 and plan to upgrade to the next gen iPhone when it is released (September?).One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

I have an iPad and I loathe iOS. The bigger screen is also a big deal. Apple's insistence on only having one shortcut button-- the home button-- is a total pain in the ass. It's harder to navigate around the OS.Originally posted by Pelado View Post

I'll probably be looking closely at the 5s when it comes out, since that will correspond with my needing a new phone. I doubt I would switch back to iOS at this point though; it's been really nice to be able to tweak things to be exactly how I want them. DH brings up a good example: the keyboard it came with didn't have cursor arrows, so I just found one that did. At the same time, it got to be pretty tedious having to tweak everything; it seems like iOS is a lot more streamlined and used friendly out of the box, even if it's clunky compared to what I eventually ended up with on Android. I also really like that I can just plug it into my computer and manipulate the files however I want. My 3GS, as I recall, couldn't do anything except what was allowable via itunes.
The HTC One seems like the best handset I've seen, in terms of engineering. The Samsungs are all cheap-seeming. "Seeming" is probably the important word there though, since their cheap plastic ends up being more durable than the easily-shattered iphone, for example.
Battery life will be a big concern for me -- if I'm out of town using maps a lot I'm lucky if all 3 of my phone's batteries aren't dead before the end of the day. I might just have to go with the latest huge-battery razor. Are they up to Ultra Mega yet? They name their phones like GNC names its multivitamins.Comment
