My fridge on the coldest setting

isn't very cold. Do I need a new one or is there something I should check?

Thanks a lot. Now I've got "Hot Blooded" stuck in my head.

Pull off the grille in front (floor level) and wipe away all the accumulated dust. You probably have it built up pretty thick.

Does the light still work when the door is closed?

It doesn't work when it is open.

I had this happen about a year ago. The defrost heater went bad and the coil kept getting iced over. That's a good thing to check.

Where is this located. I am not to knowledgeable when it comes to these things.

Maybe I should have one of my boys check it out when they are here. I don't know where they learned it, but they know about these kind of things.

One of them taught me how to change a furnace filter.

Mine is a side by side refri-freezer. The coil can be accessed through a panel on the inside of the freezer. You can usually tell if the coil is iced over without taking the panel off if the panel has a lot of frost on it (should be nearly clean of frost if the heater is working)

If you decide to get a new fridge, and do lots of research, direct me to your favorites.

We need a new one. The water connection has been broken for a while, so instead of getting it fixed or replaced (or a new fridge altogether), we've been buying bags of ice and dumping them into the ice maker like the bojiggity family that we are.

And while you're doing the research, you should see how much pebble ice makers cost.
what I am is what I am and I does what I does.

It may just need a new control board. Our water and ice went out, and I put a new control board ($220) in, and it solved the problem. It was super easy, after finding the right board.

It's broken, '71. Get a new one before this becomes a health issue.

It might take awhile. Perhaps you should make sure you have taped murder she wrote and matlock.
