Yes, they do. If they don't, you should ignore their opinion. IMHO, that is.

Yes. Your oil leak is completely unrelated. But I can understand your thinking. So often when multiple problems have crept up at the same time I have done the same thing in trying to tie them together.

When you have discussed your oil leak before, have you been told where it is leaking?

There was a bad seal somewhere once... Can't remember where. I had it replaced and it stopped the leak for a few months. So maybe this is a new leak. Its about the same volume of oil though.

I, for one, am not ruling out the possibility that when falafel put oil in his engine, his aim was so poor that he spilled oil all over his struts. Thus, not purely coincidental.

That I have not checked. Seems plausible though. It was the dealership.

Your car is getting old enough that the struts probably have gone bad. Some will squeak really loud. I had that in a car once. I found that it got much worse the colder it was outside. So did the squeaking coincide with cold temps?

On your leaking oil, if people have worked on it twice, and it still leaks, my guess would be that something is warped so that the engine oil is leaking. Torquing down the bolts a little extra might be pulling it together to stop the leak, but this really only works temporarily.

Just a couple of guesses, but I've seen both.

It has been noisy in hot and cold. If anything, it got a little better as it got colder... maybe.

Speaking of car problems, my daughter went on a date last night. Her date's car got a flat, but he didn't know how to change it, so she did.

I won't sign for any of my kids to get their driver's license or permit until they can take care of things like changing their tire and any other similar miscellany that arises while driving. Good for your daughter knowing how. Was her date from a Navy family?
