Eastern Tennessee is the "THE BOMB" for fireworks. Lots and lots of powerful stuff. I'll be there in a little over a week and will celebrate the 24th appropriately (I hope there are good pioneer stories that day in church).

Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I've noticed the fireworks are out in force this week in anticipation of the 24th.
Smiths is selling aerials and they appear to be reasonably priced. Some in the teens, others in the 20s, 30s, and so forth. We might pick up a few.
For those that purchased aerials, some of them indicate a number of "shots." Does this mean you light it once and it quickly shoots 10 or so bombs into the air? Or does the aerial have 10 separate fuses for individual aerial shots?
PS Smiths had the Mexican sombrebro again.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

One fuse, ten shots. There is not a faster way to see $20 go up in smoke. But the kids will love it. Best bang for the buck is individual artillery shells, which are sold with a single tube, and multiple shots (ie. ten separate fuses). Best way to make a show, imo, is to buy several artillery shell packages, then have three groups of teens spaced safely apart and have them continuously launching shells. You will have the visuals of those multi-shot cakes, but at a much better price, and with more fun for the teens (assuming you are celebrating with others). If you are only putting up a show for the puffy check, a couple of cakes and some jumping jacks and snap-pops will be all you need.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI've noticed the fireworks are out in force this week in anticipation of the 24th.

Fun 4th. Got to call 911 because someone in our neighborhood had two trees in front of their home in flames. Apparently nobody else in the cul-de-sac saw or cared. I don't know how you miss 20' flames though. The homeowner eventually came out with his hose saying he had it under control but the FD were already on their way."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

Sitting in the East stands for Stadium of Fire squinting to see Kelly Clarkson directly facing the sun trying not to spontaenously combust. It's what the founding fathers would have wanted. Working from 8-5 tomorrow. My boss is English. I guess he's still not over that whole "Declaration of Independence" thing..."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I wasn't fortunate enough to get tickets to Stadium of fire, but nothing says "Happy Birthday America" like listening to Canadian Idol contestant Carly Rae Jepsen.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostSitting in the East stands for Stadium of Fire squinting to see Kelly Clarkson directly facing the sun trying not to spontaenously combust. On top of that, an American Idol contestant was the MC of the Canada Day parade in Saratoga Springs this year.
