Yup, they're delish. Don't forget the raspberry chipotle sauce on top. It's amazing.

When I show this to students I tell them to go to the soup aisle at the grocery to see if they can figure out why I selected only these two types of soup.

        Thanks, wap.

When my second child was in high school her geometry teacher gave extra credit for helping with something called "Canacopia" or something like that. It was a contest between area schools to create a large sculputre using canned food. The canned food was then donated to local food banks.

That explains why tomato and chicken noodle (and I will keep that a secret). I assume the placement is purely random.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Wow, I think I might steal that idea for the start of school.

Last night we were out doing sparklers with the neighborhood kids (next door neighbors and across the street neighbors). The house down on the corner was having a party and they came out to light fireworks. Their first firework was a small bottle rocket and I guess the tube tipped over and aimed straight at us. The rocket flew right behind MJ and expoded about 20 feet past her near where the kids were running around. No one was hurt but we had some screaming kids for a minute or two. My 3 year old never recovered and we sent her into the house for bed.

Crazy thing is, the people that lit the rocket never came over to apologize or see if anyone got hurt. Weird.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. I spent the day vomiting and laying in bed. Happy 4th indeed.

                        Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

After smoking about 200lbs of pork butt this week, I wasn't in the mood to smoke anything for dinner tonight.

The boil consisted of red potatoes, corn, kielbasa, snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels and scallops.

I'll probably be in Utah County for Independence Day again this year. It looks like the Stadium of Fire event is the Saturday beforehand, and we won't be in town then. Does anyone have suggestions for good U.C. fireworks on the actual 4th of July? TIA. We'll be staying in the Provo/Orem area if we go.

Todd Pederson, Vivint co-founder, lives in Orem where the old Cascade golf course was, and always has a lot of aerials. There are soccer fields right there, too, so you could probably find a spot to watch from.

Anyone interested in golf in Midway on Wednesday? My son and I are playing Wasatch Mountain that afternoon. We were planning on playing with a law school friend of mine and his son, but I just received a text that his oldest daughter in California went into labor, so he and his wife are now heading down to meet their first grandchild. Two spots open in our foursome if anyone is interested.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body.
