When I was a new lawyer I worked at a pretty stuffy firm heavily populated by guys from Pasadena, San Marino, and La Canada. This was a place where men were expected to wear their suit jackets whenever they were not in the own office (blazers were not worn in that firm, not even on Fridays) and secretaries were required to call their bosses "Mister" and "Ms."
I digress. On weekends some of the older lawyers would wear pants like these - with cuffs, and much looser-fitting - to firm outings:

(This model is funny to me because the firm was very"white bread" at the time.)
Anyway, we called them "jackass pants."
