Okay, so the building I work in has been almost completely taken over by Disney. They rent it out for their computer animators. As a consequence, there are scads of 27ish-year-old males all over the place.

It appears their office has a very strict dress code. I have never seen a single one of them wearing anything other than twelve-year-old carpenter jeans, a black t-shirt, and vans.

Where do you live again (if you don't mind my asking)? I thought all of Disney's US animators were in Burbank.

You know where I live. I suppose they could be lying to me.

Actually I didn't know where you lived, until I just figured it out. Those 'animators' may well be animators, but they work for a video game company that was picked up by Disney Interactive. Their fashion sense is probably a better reflection of the gaming industry and your region than that of a Los Angeles animator.

That studio is in trouble. Diz already started laying people off earlier this year.

It's true. I would never trust the fashion advice of anybody even remotely connected to the gaming industry.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Yes. Triplet just provided us with plenty of evidence regarding the relative fashion panache of L.A. animators.

I like Brooks Brothers shirts, but I've always wondered about pants like this. I've seen them in Brooks Brothers, J Crew and Ralph Lauren stores. Who wears pants like this besides Andy from the Office?

I have never seen a living, breathing person wearing anything like that. Not even a dead person.

But haven't you seen them for sale at Brooks Brothers? I've seen pants like this for sale at three different retailers, yet I've never seen anyone actually wear them. Is there some faction of old-money WASPs out in the Hamptons that still wear crap like this along with a pair of Sperry Topsiders when they're out boating or something?
