If you want a laptop, then use a lap top. My iPad will never be as good as my laptop for word processing and other realted functions. my laptop will never be as elegant as my iPad for using the web and other realted fuinctions. using an iPad like a laptop is like pulling a tent trailer with your sports car.
I think you and DDD are unfairly beating up on SU. Some people prefer a more traditional keyboard to the iPad touchscreen. (I actually do just fine with the iPad and don't want a separate keyboard.) Also, according to the website it's a Bluetooth keyboard. No plug-in.

Meanies.

Just think, if you also plug in an external monitor, you will be set.
Actually, there is a market for this with physicians. We need something ultraportable with great battery life (24 hours) that also allows us to type our progress notes. My iPad with an external keyboard can't be beat (well, the iPad like tablets can't be beat).

There are definitely situations in which having a keyboard for the iPad would be useful. If you traveled a lot and needed to do a lot of typing, it would be a good to have an actual keyboard (especially after Office for iOS comes out). That said, I don't travel much and like my iPad just the way it is. The only input accessory I have is a stylus. My iPad has replaced my legal pad, and I love it.

• Plague
The other day, both attendings and all residents were at various stages in their quests to kill all life on earth. I'm hoping patients didn't overhear the back and forth:
"The London Olympics are coming--I need to mutate to a rodent host!"
"Damn it! I can't get into the water supply!"
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I am having fun with the game, but something isn't quite right and it pisses me off.

I win most games, but I am never able to unlock any new diseases. I win...I hit next...I hit exit. When I go to play again, it asks me if I was to start a new game or continue a previous game.

I select "new", and it tells me my previous game will be cancelled.

I select "continue" it takes me back to about 15 people alive and then it puts me in an endless loop.

Any ideas? My verison of the game was just updated last night.

• The latest update to the Gospel Library app is great. You can now add tabs to view multiple things quickly. This was really my only gripe with it as it was a pain in the butt sometimes to jump from a manual to a scripture and then back with no quick way of doing it except by creating bookmarks. They have also incorporated video and audio into it as well.

I know the app has had some stability issues on the iOS platform but on Android it has been flawless.

Amen. I discovered these updates while teaching Seminary. They're great. (I discovered the audio addition accidentally when I turned it on during Sunday school. )

I did the same thing in Sacrament meeting. For some reason, I thought it meant "Next." Turns out, I was wrong.

Yep. I was just trying to move to the next chapter. The worst part was that it took me a few seconds to figure out how to turn it off.

• No, this is not the first peace of malware that apple has removed from the app store and has done a certificate revocation on (effectively disabling the app from running). Charlie Miller, for example, introduced an app to the app store late last year that was revoked as well...

The point is that bad apps can slip through apple's review process but once these apps are discovered "in the wild" they can be disabled quickly to mitigate the damage. In short, you don't have to worry about rouge apps because Apple does it for you.

Please note that the same sort of review process is being applied to the Mac OS (now know as "OSX") app store as well. Starting with the "Mountain Lion" (aka. Cougar) version of OSX the default setting will be to only run apps that have been signed by a trusted developer (using certificates that have been in turn signed by Apple). If the developer, for same reason, goes rouge and embeds malware into their app Apple can revoke their certificate which, in turn, disables this app from running on your macbook, keeping all your valuable data safe. Of course, if you want to run what ever app you damn well want to run there is an option to do take malware mitigation into your own hands.

Thanks, reassuring. As a new Apple fanboy I care about stuff like this. Next thing you know I'll be buying stock.

While i'm thinking about t, I heard today that iPad and iPhone users can arrange their apps on their Mac or PC in such a manner that the apps also appear arranged the same way on their iPads and iPhones. *If this is true, I'll be happy because to me it's a little confusing to have the apps in slightly different places on each device, and it's a pain to rearrange them right on the screen.

Is what I heard true? *Can anyone help me? *Thanks for listening to my cry for help.

iCloud is your friend.... http://www.icloud-transfer.com/how-t...th-icloud.html

To find all your could arrange your apps alphabetically. This can be easily done on your ipad by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. This will make your first page default to the original Apple apps. Beginning on the second page, your apps will appear alphabetically. You will have to do this each time you add an app to keep it in order or you can rearrange them after buying new apps.

You can do a custom arrangement of your apps using iTunes.
