Oh, right, you said that. So its the DVR that's special, not the app.

Can you watch live tv in your iPad even if you don't have the sling-loaded DVR?

I don't believe so. There is a "Dish Online" feature you can add to your account which allows you to watch lots of things on demand on your computer or iPad/iPhone. But if you want access to watch what's playing on your TV, i think you need the sling player.

                  • I'm looking for a good iPad2 case. It needs to be one I can take to a meeting (meaning it looks nice), not too bulky, and that protects the corners of the device. (I'm liable to bang the corners of the thing.) Has anyone discovered a good one?

Sorry. There just isn't a way to cover the corners without making it bulky. Get a smart cover and use caution.

Meh. A little bulk isn't so bad, despite what Coach says.

LA Ute, I recently bought this case, and I think it hits all of your requirements. Its relatively cheap and the leather feels nice. I'm comfortable with the amount of bulk it adds, which is definitely on the lower end of bulky when it comes to cases. Like most folio-style cases these days, this case utilizes the on-off magnet features like smart covers.

This is a very similar case that is a bit more expensive, but has a few more color options.

Thanks, falafel. I decided to order the second one (linked above, from Yoobao). We'll see how it goes. Looks like it might be just right.

Yikes. That thing is hideous. I suppose that may discourage prospective thieves, however. So that's nice.

                            • I didnt want to say anything It reminds me of that note pad case you get from your mom in college so that you can interview for your first job. You use it a few times and then you find it in your garage 6 or 8 years later.

What's with that umbilical cord appendage?
