I'm at about 1.75 million on Temple Run. You've got to run across some magnets after you have the triple value coins to get this kind of points.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I don't know how people live without a password manager, but I mainly use a desktop version for this. I use it to keep track of bank accounts, credit cards, website login data, vehicle info (VIN, plate numbers), e-mail accounts, and just about anything else that I want to remember but keep private.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post

I have been using CodeWallet for many years and have been happy with it, but they don't have a mobile/iOS app and it looks like they aren't doing much with the desktop app so I am looking to make a switch. I have been doing some research over the past week. Looked quite closely at:
eWallet
1password
DataVault
1password has some nice features (and a goodlooking interface) but it seems to be the least flexible. I use the Notes field quite heavily to copy and paste snippets of e-mails for future reference. 1password has a tiny Notes field, so that was a dealkiller. eWallet is OK, but the interface is just too clunky and overly complicated for basic tasks. I will probably stick with DataVault. The desktop app (which I will likely use more than the mobile apps) is just about perfect for my preferences. Simple, flexible, and fast. My only gripe with the mobile apps (I have it on my iPhone and iPad) is that it takes 20-30 seconds to open the mobile app (opens immediately on the desktop). It's a PITA, but I will probably just live with it.
Desktop version is $9.99
Mobile app (universal) is $9.99"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

One more thing: DataVault allows me to sync the apps via DropBox which is nice. I wish Apple allowed 3rd party apps to use iTunes to synch data, but no luck yet. I just use Evernote. I have a document where I keep all my passwords and usernames. It's not a password manager per se, but that's where I keep everything I might need. It's free.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Post

Also, I believe that apps now can use the iCloud API to backup its data to the cloud. So gripe to your 3rd party app developer to get with it.

Question: Can I sync with DataVault desktop through iTunes?
Answer: Apple does not provide support for 3rd party developers to synchronize application data through iTunes. Synchronizing over Wi-Fi is the best method we have found at the current time. If Apple provides an application programming interface (API) for synchronization in future versions of the software developer kit (SDK) we plan to implement it immediately. If your desktop has a wireless adapter then you can set up an ad-hoc network to synchronize with your handheld even if you don't have access to an Wi-Fi router."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Hmmm... I use OneNote which does the same thing. I already store the notebooks on the cloud and there is both an iPhone and iPad app. I tried this once before but each section is individually password protected. I suppose I could put everything in one section. Messy, but workable.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostI just use Evernote. I have a document where I keep all my passwords and usernames. Evernote does not allow password encryption for notebooks or sections. It has to be applied one selected group of text at a time. (EDIT: and even that is not safe: http://antivirus.about.com/od/securi...vernotetip.htm)
Dealkiller on both.

100% of my med school notes were done in ON with the audio lecture recording synced. It was unstoppable.
I have a friend that is a program manager for ON, Daniel Escapa. Good guy and he has gotten me in on some cool MS stuff. I did the initial alpha/beta testing for the product when we went from 2003 to 2007 and then 2010. Some of my product enhancements showed up in 2010 (2007 I just tested)."Don't expect I'll see you 'till after the race"

Can you forward some suggestions for me?
1) Faster search on mobile (iOS) apps.
2) Password protect entire notebooks, not individual sections.
3) Allow viewing of password-protected notebooks on mobile devices.
I am amazed that it took them so long to get an iPad app out there. Sometimes I wonder if they have any idea how great an app OneNote is.
The cloud synchronization is wonderful. Fast and simple. Tell him bravo for that."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I wonder why there is such a lag in opening the app?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI don't know how people live without a password manager, but I mainly use a desktop version for this. Have you researched SplashID Safe or mSecure?
My issue is that I'm not exactly sure what I will need. The ability to sync across desktop and iPad seems like a good feature for me. Although once I sync it once, I'm not sure I will be needing to do that very often. I don't acquire new passwords all the time. In fact, very infrequently. Also, not sure how heavily I would use a Notes feature. I do have some notes here and there associated with certain passwords, but nothing extensive.
When you are talking about "basic tasks" within these apps, what sorts of tasks are you doing? I envision a place to house my passwords. When I can't remember a password, I go to the app and there it is. Beyond that, what are you doing with the app?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Yes. Reviews didn't seem too good on either.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostHave you researched SplashID Safe or mSecure?
I don't know. I seem to create new accounts on websites all the time. But a periodic sync should work fine. Frankly, I see myself using the desktop app 95% of the time.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostMy issue is that I'm not exactly sure what I will need. There is always lots of information that doesn't conveniently match the preset fields. So I just paste it in the notes section. Couldn't live without it.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAlso, not sure how heavily I would use a Notes feature. That's pretty much the main thing. It is basically an simple database. I like to be able to organize by category. Each type has its own set of fields. Fast search is critical as I have several hundred records.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWhen you are talking about "basic tasks" within these apps, what sorts of tasks are you doing? Like I said, I store more than just passwords. SS #'s for my kids, FF#'s, rental car membership ids, bank accounts (account numbers, routing numbers, etc.), insurance policy info, driver license numbers for family members, blah, blah, blah..."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right?
