Netflix now has an iPhone app. I downloaded it today and love it. It's not earthshattering, does pretty much what you would expect, but the ability to watch anything in Netflix's instant library from anywhere with a 3G connection is wonderful. I take public transportation for 90 to 120 minutes a day, and my entertainment options have just increased dramatically.

Bing has a top 100 songs by year app that's free and pretty cool. I was listening to the top 100 from 1970, my birth year, and I have to say that was a pretty nice year for music. Anyway, well worth a free download. You can look at the top 100 from each year in order, you just can't hear them in order nor can you select the song to play due to recording industry rules. It just shuffles the 100 songs from each year. You can skip as many times as you like though.

I haven't seen this, i'm pretty excited to check it out. I finally got around to jailbreaking again the other day and discovered biteSMS. It replaces your standard messaging app and is way better, allowing for lock screen texting and texting from within other apps. I would recommend it to anyone who sends more than 10 texts a day.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostBing has a top 100 songs by year app that's free and pretty cool. Anyone want to get this thread up and running again?
A few apps I like having around:
GearedHD: really fun, simple game
Pebble Jump: another addicting game that is great for airplane flights, conference calls, or Church court.
Intro to Letters: this makes homework/study time fun. The kids really enjoy writing out their alphabet and reading simple word fragments with this app. I have them use the stylus so that they are learning to hold a pen/pencil.
Star Walk: I think this is the one in the iPad commercial. Another one that is a huge hit with the kids. One thing I really like....an excuse to lay on the hammock with the PuffyCheck and hang out together.
Toy Story: free Disney app that is beautifully done. It is a reader, plays mini games, allows you to record your voice, plays music videos, and also lets the kids color pictures from the movie.
National Geographic World Atlas HD: I love this one. If you enjoy memorizing trivia or reading maps, this is a nice app. The maps are beautifully done and there is drill down info for every country...flags, world and state capitals, and info about each.
I am still looking for a good food app....I didn't really dig the urban spoon offering and the Zagat app requires a subscription.
Also, any other educational apps for kids age 5 or so?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

The Toy Story app is pretty sweet.
I use Task Pro at work a lot.
I think Time has done a really great job with their magazine apps (People, Time, etc). Free if you subscribe. Available before the mag arrives and the features are just flat cool.
LDS Scripture for iPad is awesome. It has cut down on my load of items at church.
Lifelike Clock is my alarm clock away from home.

I did get an iPad, though, thereby rendering the iPhone completely unnecessary. It is a really fun toy, though. Esp for Church. And I still dislike the touchscreen keypad.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I forgot, I need a clock app, too. And a calculator app.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostLifelike Clock is my alarm clock away from home.
Half of the apps I have downloaded are to perform basic functions that any serious business tool should already have. Seriously, I have to download a calculator app on a tablet computer?Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

That didn't make sense to me either, but I love the thing. During travel days, I wouldn't want to be without it.
