      That makes me feel better.

Yes, it won't be long before freshmen everywhere have one or an iPhone/touch. If your idea for an iPhone/iPad app is for profit then contact me privately. I may be able to help.

I'm sorry I am not buying this. These giveaways seem to be more marketing and promotional tools than anything else. These are three small religious schools. George Fox is a Quaker school!

The same discussions are being had here -- for a College and University that share the same campus.

It would be a nice for one of our resident fanboys to give us a target date and an estimated proliferation. Say, by 2014, 50% of all incoming freshmen will be issued an iPad, or something along those lines.

It would be nice to have some established metrics to laugh at once the prediction doesn't come true.

                  Sorry.

Gidget grew up just west of Newberg in McMinnville. It's small. There's nothing there. They have a relatively new hospital there. But you'll have to go to Sherwood/Tigard/Tualitin for anything. It's in a pretty area. Willamette Valley wine country. If he likes wine. Though I'm not sure if that's against the school's honor code or not. I don't know what Quakers believe.

Apple will likely sell 2 million iPads in FY 2010, with another 6 million coming in 2011, says Needham & Co. analyst Charlie Wolf. The firm has completed its first assessment of the tablet's potential, which is said to founded on several assumptions. Because of a $500 base price, the iPad is expected to attract a "non-trivial" number of the 75 million iPhone and iPod touch owners in existence, as well as more buyers in the form of netbook shoppers, schools and hospitals.

Apple could sell as many as 7.1 million iPads in 2010 alone, iSuppli estimated today. Analysts believed that a strong wave of early adopters and those simply drawn to a tablet design should be enough to push millions of iPads each quarter this year. It would be enough to at least temporarily overcome the lack of Adobe Flash and could actually be conservative if Apple upgrades features or cuts prices quickly, the study creators said.

Nothing to be sorry about... I personally think its a hefty price to be a clinical psychologist. Hopefully he can get one of those jobs where they pay your student loans if not that is a lot of debt.

                              • I think a huge market for the IPAD is hospitals and doctors' offices. I took my daughter to the doctor a couple of months ago and the doctor was carrying around this huge laptop. Itouch seemed a little too small but I bet an Ipad would be perfect.
