I've never taken mine to the repair shop -- EVER!Originally posted by Donuthole View PostMore like he's driving a Chevy Impala and you're driving a Mercedes C class. You both have leather seats and power everything, but he paid 20k and you paid 40k. Also, you get to pay more for repairs, and probably have to take it to the dealer to get the job done right.

IMAC $1,200 (base model)Originally posted by tooblue View PostRight now I'm driving a Chevy but if we are going to use car metaphors Shaka would rather drive a Chevy Cavalier while I prefer to drive a Mercedes for roughly the same price.
HP Pavilioon $575
Its more like he would rather drive a ford fusion then overpay double for a toyota carolla"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. what merits?Originally posted by tooblue View PostMy claims stand on their merits. lol ... Man, you're not very good at this. You need to go find a thread about fashion or something.
you used the word "likely" twice. That was the extent of your conjecture.
Beyond that, do you have any data to support this notion? You can easily look up market share data for 2009 for apple, nokia, and blackberry.
here is one of several:

The funny thing about this article from May 2009...Apple had just recently doubled its market share. That means that as recently as 2008, Apple's world shifters accounted for only 5% of total smart phone users.
what would 95% of the world do without these apple devices? My guess is they would go on with their normal daily lives.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Is Final Cut Pro one of the software programs that you claim is changing the world? I am not Familiar with "Final Cut Pro" but it sounds terribly critical. Should I upgrade tonight or can i get by until the weekend?Originally posted by tooblue View PostCan you run Final Cut Pro on your PC? We've had this argument before. You lose!Fitter. Happier. I've never needed to run Final Cut Pro -- EVER!Originally posted by tooblue View PostCan you run Final Cut Pro on your PC? We've had this argument before. There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Oh geez dude. I've been a multimedia developer since the mid-nineties. I've watched the evolution of the two platforms from a very close range. My work required me to have both platforms sitting side by side on my desk. While I no longer do multimedia work I work at a tech firm and still keep up with both platforms. I also have a recording studio that uses both platforms so I'm very up to date on the production/post production side of things. I love Apple and have certainly invested a lot in their products but you fanboys have a massively skewed view of computer history and the current state of the industry.Originally posted by tooblue View PostRight now I'm driving a Chevy but if we are going to use car metaphors Shaka would rather drive a Chevy Cavalier while I prefer to drive a Mercedes for roughly the same price.
BTW, my pc hasn't had a virus in years.

You are not comparing apples to apples my friend (no pun intended). Try this comparison in order to ensure there is comparable hardware, speed and memory etc. in each respective machine.

Again your numbers are like comparing the effect the Back Street boys had on music as compared to the Beetles. Do you get it yet?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postwhat merits?

And the point is 95% wouldn't have a PC if the mac hadn't first been invented
