That has happened to me a couple times, but not for over a year. I think both times it was because I set it in a slot on my dash while it was charging. My car had been sitting in the sun all day, so I assume the radiant heat from the dash was causing the phone to over heat. I started setting it on the passenger seat while it charges and I haven't seen the screen again.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I've been pleased so far. This is my first computer with all solid-state memory; the boot-up time is maybe four or five seconds. The HDMI port is also nice for pushing shows onto the TV that I can't get over the Roku player. The last Apple computer I used with any regularity was an Apple II GS in middle school, so I'm still getting around the operating system learning curve.
That stinks. My iPhone 5 has been great with battery life so far, but it looks like this change happens suddenly. What does it cost to have the battery replaced if you have to foot the bill yourself?Originally posted by Donuthole View PostApple recalls iPhone 5 batteries. Unfortunately, it is only for a 3-month production window.

My 5 battery recently took a complete dump. It now only holds a charge for about a half day. On days when I wake up early and stay up late, I find I have to charge it twice during the day. Totally lame. It doesn't fall within the recall group, so it would seem I've got another 8 months with this problem.
Same as DH here. It happened to me once when I had it in a slot in the car on a hot day, but that's the only time it did that.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View Postmy iPhone 5 frequently gets really hot to the touch when it is charging or when it is plugged into my car stereo. i have seen the overheat warning screen a few times. didnt even know it existed."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

It does happen suddenly. Seems like my battery issues started about 2 months ago. It makes me wonder it if was an iOS update, because it seemed pretty sudden. Previously it held a charge all day. I would usually go to bed with around 15% remaining.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostThat stinks. It is easy to replace yourself, for about $25.00. YouTube videos will walk you through it. I replaced my wife's battery (not a euphemism) and her phone holds a charge great.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostThat stinks. I hope so. My wife has been limping on her 4S for months now just holding out for the bigger phone. She must have seen this date as she keeps offering to add on to my birthday list later this week.Originally posted by Commando View PostI've read September 9 as the firm date.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

I'm still using my 4 and it is on its last leg. Makes it about half a day before i need to start thinking about a charge. Power button broke a couple of weeks ago. it's been a great phone, but it's time for it to go.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostMy wife still uses her 4s and has no interest in upgrading.

I love my 5. I think it's the perfect size. I have no interest in the bigger screen.
Thanks. I think I may do this.Originally posted by chrisrenrut View PostIt is easy to replace yourself, for about $25.00. YouTube videos will walk you through it. I replaced my wife's battery (not a euphemism) and her phone holds a charge great.
