I narrowed it down and determined that it always crashes when I am interacting with a browser. It also only crashes when I am using an external monitor. I am not 100% sure yet that this is the problem, but it is the most promising lead I have found yet.

I am trying Chrome Canary now to see if that makes a difference. I don't like Safari but that may be a last resort.

    • My wife went to Target last night about five minutes before opening and somehow got the iPad Air deal for $379. She said everyone was in a frenzy for items like the Mr. Belvedere and Night Court DVD Anthology double packs.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

That does sound like a pretty amazing double pack, that might have gotten me out for Black Friday.

You wouldn't have been alone. Apparently the hottest item was the full series of One Day At A Time DVDs for $10.00. That's not just season 3, widely regarded as the best season of television ever next to the season 4 of The Wire, THE WHOLE SERIES. All that Schneider and Valerie Bertinelli for $10 sounds like a steal.

          • Love the IPad cover from some company called Invellop. It costs $20 on Amazon. It covers the whole thing with a very low profile, it has the Smart Cover feature on it and it fits perfectly.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

                • to those who run onenote in a virtual machine, do you have issues syncing via skydrive? there's some kind of permission issue that results in me getting a "onenote needs your password to sync this notebook" error basically every time i open it. really, really annoying. i would normally prefer to sync by just saving the notebooks at a network location (dropbox, google drive), but the skydrive functionality works well on my ipad.

I use OneNote and all of my notebooks are saved to the cloud on SkyDrive and I don't recall having any problems. I am using VMWare.

                    • f.lux is awesome. as the sun goes down, it makes the display "warmer" and easier on the eyes. it's helped me cut down on headaches after staring at an lcd for 12+ hours daily. i'm not sure about the insomnia claims, but it makes sense.

                      • Not sure why that is in the Apple thread since it is not an Apple product and is available across platforms but I'm wondering what the flux is going on with the new Mac mini. It is almost the end of the month.
