I decided to go with just wifi. I have wifi at home, work, church and that is where I use it 99% of the time. I just can't justify the 4G. If I ever need it, I will pay extra for iPhone tethering or jailbreak my iPhone.

Any 3 enthusiasts pre-order? I didn't. I was planning on just buying one at a store but I dont feel like sleeping out at the Gateway just to buy it from the Apple store. I've read that Wal, Target, Best Buy and others will have a full supply for launch. I might have to wait a week or two but meh, beats waiting in some crazy 3AM line.

In addition to being available at each of Apple’s many retail locations, the third generation tablet will be sold at Best Buy, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart. Also, Wi-Fi + 4G models will be sold at most AT&T and Verizon Wireless locations.
UPDATE: Walmart has issued a statement that their 24-hour stores will be offering limited quantities of the new iPad starting at 12:01 a.m. local time. I’d grab my camping gear and head over there now if you haven’t already preordered!
If past practice is any indication, the supplies at each of these stores will be limited, at least through this weekend. As such, don’t be surprised if the model/color combination you seek is not available.

They have about 100 of the new iPads in stock at the local Best Buy. Did Apple just have a bunch of supply? If I buy one of these would I be able to resell it today on Craigslist or eBay for a premium? The guy told me they only got 75 last year and they got 175 this year.

The Sandy Walmart got a total of 5 iPads this year.

I pre-ordered a couple this year to try and sell during the gap between when Best Buy sells out and when Apple re-stocks. I've heard that Apple might not have a new shipment until April 9.

It's hilarious, I thought the things went on sale at 5 like they did last year, but apparently it was midnight. I just walked in and they have a ton just sitting here. The Wal Mart across the street suuposedly got 15.

So unless I sell one of these to someone in China, I can't really sell it for, say $100 more than I bought it for. Not worth the trouble. Unlike Sony (the PS2) and Nintendo, Apple knows how to meet demand at launch

Yes, when you launch a new item every 6 months, you eventually figure out how to do it right.

I played with my associate's this morning for a few minutes (his new iPad, not THAT, sickos!) and I didn't find anything that made me want to upgrade from my 2. Of course, the applications tailored for use by the new iPad are limited, so I'll wait and see. But we put up march madness on his and mine side by side, and the only difference was come color brightness.
