So since my phone now says I am getting 4G, does that mean the data throttling on my unlimited plan will not start until I get to 5GB, rather than 3GB?

No, I don't think "Space Ship Steve Jobs" will be scrapped. They haven't done anything with the land as far as I know, however.

If AT&T says your iPhone is now using 4G then it must be using 4G.

Any 3 enthusiasts pre-order? I didn't. I was planning on just buying one at a store but I dont feel like sleeping out at the Gateway just to buy it from the Apple store. I've read that Wal, Target, Best Buy and others will have a full supply for launch. I might have to wait a week or two but meh, beats waiting in some crazy 3AM line.

I did, and it's scheduled to be here Friday. I'll probably stop at the Apple Store on the way home to pick up a smart cover or something on Friday, too.

If you are cheap (I know you aren't, I meant it generally) you might want to check out macmall.com and order it from there. I'm not sure if they are taking preorders, but I usually buy my stuff from there mainly because they don't charge sales tax. So basically I save 8.25% on everything I order. Sure I should pay use tax, but.....

I did a few days ago. I just received the shipping notice. I wasn't expecting it until the end of the month so I'm happy. I did not get a 4g so that probably helped.

I am not sure what constitutes an official pre-order, but I am on a list and they are supposed to e-mail me on Friday giving me the green light to pick up. If they don't come through I will try to find one somewhere else over the weekend.

I decided to go with just wifi. I have wifi at home, work, church and that is where I use it 99% of the time. I just can't justify the 4G. If I ever need it, I will pay extra for iPhone tethering or jailbreak my iPhone.
