Does anyone here know how to program apps? I have an idea for a relatively simple education app that would be purchased by every teacher in the US. No kidding. It wouldn't be very hard to program, and it would make us rich.

I don't fully understand it, but it seems to be a definition type thing. So even though the speed isn't any better, I now have 4G."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. If you are serious, I know lots of good programmers that do contract app work for iOS and android. Productivity apps have the highest margins in the app store, but that is a bit misleading because they are also by far the most expensive, so while they don't sell as many, they make more per sale.Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostDoes anyone here know how to program apps? Very few apps make anybody rich. An education/productivity app has an artificial revenue cap built in because only teachers will want it. And you need a budget to get the app off the ground.

Is it a game where furious birds seek revenge on the smirking pigs that stole their eggs? I bet non-teachers would buy it too.Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostDoes anyone here know how to program apps? I had an idea for an app, too, but I don't have the money to hire a programmer. I looked around for something that someone who's completely illiterate when it comes to programming could use, and I found Livecode. It's a high-level programming language based on HyperTalk, which Apple used in Hypercard back in the 80s and 90s. I've just started learning it, but it's much, much simpler than pretty much any other programming language.Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostDoes anyone here know how to program apps? Hmmm... I made that post before doing any market research. I've found one similar app, and it costs $30+. Since my impetus for wanting to develop this is primarily to have it for my own use, I'll do a little market research with their free version before deciding to commit to developing my own version.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostIf you are serious, I know lots of good programmers that do contract app work for iOS and android. Interesting. I wonder if there has been any talk about moving their headquarters. These days it seems like a lot of companies are anxious to flee Cali.Originally posted by Parrot Head View PostI guess this kiss-A(pple) thread is the place to put this, but will this affect anyone on the board?
