Is the Infiniti QX80 really good looking or really ugly? I can't decide.

It's ugly, but it's a great value, IMO.

When you pull up behind me on I-5 doing 80 in that thing, I'll pull over and let you pass in a heart beat. Personally, I think it's a good stealthy vehicle that people at church won't get all excited about, but you'll have a hell of a good time driving it up and back to Washington.

Get it, and stop by my house to show me. You pass within a half mile of me everytime you come this way.

I love that Infiniti. One of my buddies has one and we take it out all the time and I'm jealous every time he rolls up.

His is silver, murdered out, it's sweet.

I've had 4 of those brands. Acura, BMW, 2- Mercedes, and Infiniti. Around town they are all the same. On the highway between Portland and Provo, the 740il was hands down the best and funnest. I put a 100K on the e430 and it was good on the highway too, but there was just something special about the 740. We've have the Infiniti for more than 10 years and 200,000 miles on it now, (kids runaround car) and it's just as strong as ever. Spent $1000 on it this past summer, and it's really a nice car, sound and will run all day. I've also had a VW A-4 TDI, which is identical to the Audi A-4. That car pound for pound and dollar for dollar was the best car I ever had. Never got tired of it.

If I was going to buy a new car in 2014, it would probably be a Nissan Maxima.

Yeah... that's about right. The Mercedes was big and lumbering around town, but it was a great highway car. I guess you need to decide what the 80% use is and pick a car that does that best. Quick and nimble in town. Fast and heavy on the highway.

The BMW was a corporate lease. I'd have to be in a different bracket to pay for one. I paid cash for the Mercedes, and I would never pay more than 30K for one. I'd buy used with less than 50,000 miles. They'll run to 200K fairly well.

That is really dodge Viper-esque. I've never been a van of the vette just for aesthetic reasons alone (it's always reminded me of a coke bottle on wheels), but the new one in black looks nice at certain angles.

Went to the auto show at the South Town Expo center today. Holy cow - it was packed!

My old man is a BMW guy. I'm more of an Accord/Camry guy. Not by choice but by financial circumstances. Looking at new cars makes me want to go out and buy one. Then I think about the cost and think, "Nah, I can get another 5 years out of my 10 year old Accord."
