Lightborn!!! You are bringing light to the Cuffers!Originally posted by tooblue View PostI did state that the membership could be asked to come up with ideas so ...
But I'm not in favor of a separate forum. As per my goals I was chatting with MRD death this evening and he compared me to Lucifer in a Isaiah kind of a way
So maybe I best not share them!"Be a philosopher. A man can compromise to gain a point. It has become apparent that a man can, within limits, follow his inclinations within the arms of the Church if he does so discreetly." - The Walking Drum
"And here’s what life comes down to—not how many years you live, but how many of those years are filled with bullshit that doesn’t amount to anything to satisfy the requirements of some dickhead you’ll never get the pleasure of punching in the face." – Adam Carolla

Problem with DDD's idea of a separate Foyer forum is that you can't control who posts there. The same types of conversations would take place there as in the existing Foyer.
the only reason nobody engaged Archaea in his classical languages forum was because nobody cares how many ways there are to conjugate "copulate" in ancient Greek.
Whereas a Foyer II would be irresistable to the hot shots.

I think it would be just the opposite. I doubt many people post anything there at all.Originally posted by Levin View PostProblem with DDD's idea of a separate Foyer forum is that you can't control who posts there. The same types of conversations would take place there as in the existing Foyer.

The first day there would be activity...lots of "Hey, I had this experience" with a bunch of "thanks for sharing that" responses. There is nothing wrong with those types of threads, but ultimately, my guess is that people here crave more meat on the bones. If anything, those that may want this new forum will spend far more time in the regular Foyer than vice versa.
By definition, those that dont see a need for a new forum will probably have little to do with it once it is up and running.
It isn't my suggestion, btw. Others have suggested it. I am simply reiterating it. I am on record as not seeing a huge need, if any. But since this seems to be a recurring theme, might as well give them the forum and be done with it.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Did PAC get enough credit for this? Here you go PAC: LOL!!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostSon, we live on a board that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by mods with powers. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Finderson? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lingo and curse the Executive Committee; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Lingo's cyberdeath, while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use them as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and posts under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a keyboard and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.
You see, I bear you no professional jealousy or grudges. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I was hoping for an ROFL smilie, but I accept this gracious acknowledgement still the same. I would have taken more time to do a better rewrite of Colonel Jessup's stirring soliloquy, but I had a 9:30 starting time and needed to dash. Most importantly, my intended audience, RF, boardmailed a tip o' the cap, the contents of which I shall never reveal.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostDid PAC get enough credit for this? I would say.."whatshappeninman, you seem to have that magic touch, both online and in real life. But right now you should be focused less on basketball and more on Sunday School. You have already done irreparable harm." Sorry, just being honest!Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostOne day, wuap comes to CUF and discloses that a female student of his is suicidal.
