I think there are lots of reasons for Chapman to go to Utah. Close to home. It's familiar. He gets to play in a great conference against NBA talent. Significantly less pressure than someplace like Arizona or UCLA. He can be part of a turnaround if they're successful.
That said I still think it is a bit of an odd choice. He and Loveridge essentially play the same position. I think Chapman's coming forces Loveridge back underneath as Chapman seems best suited on the wing. I am interested to see if the much lighter Loveridge is as effective down low, on the boards and getting to the line. Regardless those are two good pieces to build around.
