For those who weren't there, here's some pictures I took that may give you some sense of the size of the video board (which I thought was easily the best part of the stadium).

I was seated at about three rows below entry level (the field is well below normal ground level). So about 1/3 of the way up. I was at about the goal line or so, IIRC.

You were just below me. And to think I didn't even recognise the infamous Niku.

No kidding!? And we've even met up once before, so I like to think I would have recognized you.

I have to laugh at the enormity of those screens. Your picture only highlights the ridiculousness.

Look at the size of the sideline screen.....then pan down and look at the size of the actual players on the field. They look like tiny ants. If the screen were to fall, it would destroy an entire civilization.

The scary thing about this is that there is no camera trickery taking place in your pics. The screen is literally THAT huge. No amount of pictures can explain it. You just have to see it to believe it.

          Those screens are amazing.

I had this exact thought. The Nervous Nellie part of me was wondering if it would bring down the whole roof and kill us all if it smashed to the ground. Sort of like Sampson and the Philistines, only with some random punter playing the role of Delilah.

Also, I very strongly feel that there are certain things that should not be shown in HD on that magnitude. I already mentioned the armpit hair stubble and make-up. It reminds me of a Douglas Adams book I'm pretty sure nobody else remembers.

Just think, on that screen, one solitary stubble is probably taller than you.

Anybody happen to remember Weird Al Yankovich's song, "Frank's 2000 inch TV?"

That thing stretches from the 20 to the 20. That is 2160 inches.

Actually, it's bigger, since such things are measured on the diagonal.

It's 60 yards wide. Assuming the standard 16:9 widescreen format, that makes it 33.75 yards high.

Reaching WAY back into middle school, Pythagorum or some such greek guy tells me that the diagonal measurement is something in the range of 68.84 yards. Convert that to inches and you have a shade under 2500.

Bottom line is, we have ourselves a TV 20 percent larger than that which was once considered laughably preposterous.

Yes. And I can't lie the song was popping in my head reading this thread before I came across your post. I really would like to see Robert deniros mole on that thing... At least 10 feet wide!

Your Bible story knowledge is a little iffy. I suggest you bone up before trying to throw around legends like Sampson and Delilah here.

Your understanding of the English language is also a little iffy.

The word "legend" does not necessarily denote untrue information.
