The silver lining to the Wilson injury is that we get to see how Jaren Hall performs. It was hard to tell much from the one drive against Toledo. I'm guessing he'll be starting for at least a couple of games if not more."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

I, too, am interested in how well Jaren plays. From what I've read, he plays a style similar to Russell Wilson - using his athleticism not to get rushing yards but to extend the play and throw downfield.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostThe silver lining to the Wilson injury is that we get to see how Jaren Hall performs. ESPN is running a "BYU to start first black QB ever" headline on the ticker right now."What are you prepared to do?" - Jimmy Malone

Anyone else think it's kind of embarrassing that it's taken this long? Not a big fan of the publicity on this one.Originally posted by Joe Public View PostESPN is running a "BYU to start first black QB ever" headline on the ticker right now."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Demographics. So what schools are still on the list of never starting a black QB? I doubt we're the last.

They most likely picked this up from KSL which pointed this out 5-6 days ago. I wonder how long it will be before BYU has its first openly gay QB. And will be in a P5 conference.Originally posted by Pelado View PostAnyone else think it's kind of embarrassing that it's taken this long? Not a big fan of the publicity on this one.

The truth about BYU football is it was a prideful decision to leave the Mountain West and go Independent. Regardless the coach, BYU cannot recruit well enough and have the depth necessary to offset the pounding the players take week in and week out playing the front loaded schedules they play. BYU needs to swallow their pride and get in a conference. The PAC never was and never will be an option. There are no other P5 options for BYU. It is tough being humbled in this manner. It is time to make changes top to bottom.
