I'll be disappointed if we hire Niumatulolo.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

Honestly? I don't care at this point.

Way too much worry and hand-wringing over silly details about will he (whoever "he" is) do this or do that, bring this offense or bring that offense. Bottom line, no one cares about those details if you win.

      Just win.

I'm just fine if it's ken N. I will only be disappointed if you actually tries to implement the triple option

I'm fine if it's Ken N because at least he's not Army's coach.

2008: 8-5 (wins over Towson, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Air Force, SMU, Temple, Northern Illinois and Army. Losses to Ball State, Duke, Pitt, Notre Dame, Wake Forest)
2009: 10-4 (wins over La tech, western kentucky, air force, Rice, SMU, wake forest, #21 Notre Dame, Delware, Army, Mizzou. Losses to Ohio State, Temple, Pitt, hawaii)
2010: 9-4 (wins over Georgia Southern, La Tech, Wake, SMU, Notre Dame, East Carolina, Central Michigan, Arkansas State, Army. Losses to Maryland, Air Force, Duke, SDSU)
2011: 5-7 (wins over Delaware, Western Kentucky, Troy, SMU Army. Losses to South Carolina, Air Force, Southern Miss, Rutgers, East Carolina, Notre Dame, SJSU)
2012: 8-5 (wins over VMI, Air Force, Central Michigan, Indiana, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Texas State, Army. Losses to Notre Dame, Penn State, SJSU, Troy, ASU)
2013: 9-4 (wins over Indiana, Delaware, Air Force, Hawaii, South Alabama, SJSU, Army, Middle Tennessee, Pitt. Losses to WKU, Duke, Toledo, Notre Dame)
2014: 8-4 (wins over temple, texas state, VMI, SJSU, Georgia Southern, South Alabama, Army, SDSU. Losses to Ohio State, Rutgers, WKU, Air Force, Notre Dame)
2015: *9-2 (wins over Colgate, East Carolina, UCONN, Air Force, Tulane, South Florida, #15 Memphis, SMU, Tulsa. Losses to Notre Dame, Houston) *Still have Army and Pitt in the bowl game

Ken has defeated 2 ranked teams, a Notre Dame team that finished the season 6-6 the year Weis was fired and Memphis this season. The schedule he has played year in and year out is full of cupcakes with Notre Dame, and possibly 1 other decent P5 team thrown in.

Ken is 3-4 in bowl games. 0-1 against Utah

I also checked his record in close games or 1 possession games, I think that tells a lot about a coach. Navy has played a lot of close games, He is 20-20 in games decided by 7 points or less. Again that doesn't excite me.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

If it's down to Ken and Sitake (as it appears), it will probably be Ken. Maybe Sitake has more potential upside, but having a guy who has run a program before is going to matter all the more now that the staff has been gutted.

What if we all fasted this weekend for a special witness of the gospel to come to Saban as HC, Urban as OC, Dantoni as DC. Guys I don't think we are harnessing enough faith here. Let's get on our knees and make this happen!

Relatedly, if you look at Navy's MOV based rating (pure MOV model) over the past 5 years, its over 63.2 and that includes the extreme outlier of this season (20th). Otherwise, his teams have averaged in the mid-70s. So what do people think the benchmark should be for a Navy coach? Is a coach at Navy good if he consistently is better than 80th in the country but rarely better than 60th. Maybe? but it's hard to get excited about that. If he consistently got Navy in the 40-60 range I would be a lot more excited.

What was Paul Johnson's rating in your math stuff I don't understand, while at Navy? That would seem to be a good comparison.

I started running my own models in 08, so not off the shelf. We could do an approximation with Massey. Massey's ok. Both Sagarin and massey do some weird things in their models that I think are stupid but overall they are ok.

Talk about aiming low. Belichick as head coach, Pete Carroll as DC and Chip Kelly as OF.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
