The thing that amuses me is how the Ute reaction to this bowl appearance is so ironic. For years Utes have asserted that BYU fans are delusional about how their program is perceived around the country. That no one thinks of BYU as anything but an obscure program in a backward state that got lucky in one season in the 80s. As it turns out, however, the delusion show is on the other foot. Utes are complaining about the bowl and the 'disrespect' etc., but the rest of the country sees the Utes and BYU as roughly equivalent and this bowl as a great match up. Utes try and try and try, but they can't quit BYU and they can't leave behind who they really are. And the rest of the country doesn't understand why they would want to quit; they see this as a great natural rivalry (deaths in the stands notwithstanding) and are promoting this little backwards bowl that takes place on December 19 as one of the best match ups of the year. Get a grip Utes, win or lose you should really become more self aware and see yourself as others see you. Thats what BYU has done and its not so bad, really.

But the Huskers play U...C...L...A. Fan attention will probably wane after watching #13: Temple vs Toledo and #12: Bowling Green vs Georgia Southern.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI am surprised it's that high. Nobody gives a crap about Nebraska.
On the first Saturday of the 2015 season, BYU vs Nebraska had a national audience on ABC without split coverage. Enough people gave a crap about Nebraska (and BYU) to have that type of TV coverage.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

To be fair, that's a whole lot easier to do when others can see you on ESPN 8 games a year.Originally posted by creekster View PostThe thing that amuses me is how the Ute reaction to this bowl appearance is so ironic. Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

That was my point that the Dude did not grasp - he needs another White Russian. UCLA Freshman QB Josh Rosen is playing against a Blackshirt defense that has given up record passing yards; he might surpass 500 yards through the air...by the start of the 4th quarter.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

A better conference commissioner could have forced the Sun Bowl people to stop preferring Washington State over Utah.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

The Veg is bringing back the end zone bleachers. 3,000 more seats. I sat in them vs. Oregon. Great seats, actually, when the play is on your side of the field.
Also, Bronco said that if VA had not allowed him to coach the Bowl game, that would have been a deal breaker.
