No they won't. They're not a good team.

Great, great point. I think we've already established this season what a great boost the bulletin board constitutes. Seems like only a couple weeks ago when the bulletin board that stated #3 Utah was a dog to unranked USC was going to be the bright red cape to Whitt's raging bull leading up to the USC game.

        Two thoughts:

        - If the football team was in contention for a shot at the SEC title, would there have been any threat of the players walking?
        - What happened at the university? Just a couple of years ago, it was the example of all that is good when there was an openly gay man playing on the team.

        Leftists on campuses are amusing.

Moderators, can you move this post over to Coubarboard? Can you photo shop the pic of the infant so its wearing BYU jersey?

SU is conveying indignation at the above-posted conservative/right wing viewpoint which he terms to be more suited to a post on Coubarboard by presumably a BYU fan.

So, I'm not sure how my response classifies as Orthodox LDS.

Secondly, I actually attended the University of Iowa when the dental school threats happened. Look up the incident in question:

Turns out that fake hate crimes happen fairly regularly, and not just my one-off at the University of Iowa:

I find your response to be "cringe-worthy" and not well thought-out or researched.
I apologize for the Orthodox LDS part of it, that was offsides, but to simply make the comment the way you did is at best insensitive, to say nothing of the straw man.

It's more than that. If you're not from Missouri you probably don't know how bad the racial climate is there right now.

Again, sorry. I'm still reeling a bit from some close Progmo friends entrenching themselves back into the fold following the to-do of last week. If you ask around here I think you'll find I've been pretty consistently fair on my behavior to this point so take my apology for what it's worth.

Yeah not sure where the "leftists" comment comes from. I'm guessing that the political liberal/conservative spectrum has zero to do with any of this, but don't tell that to anyone who listens to A.M. radio, which universe revolves around that dichotomy.

I think they should move the game to Ferguson.

A high school friend who now teaches at Missouri said things have been really stirred up and hostile since Ferguson. He is of the very left academic side and when he speaks of hostility he is referring to the white population in and around Columbia.

A lot of the student body and faculty was pretty involved with the political movement in Ferguson.

Things are bad and the administration, apparently, hasn't been responsive enough. Saying racism is bad has been insufficient. The protesters and student groups want social justice in the form of quotas, programs, and financial investment.

They may win. But emotion doesn't help a QB figure out how to throw the ball.
