this seems like a weird argument to be having. talent is clearly the most important component of a winning college football team, but i imagine usc, texas, hoke-era um, et al., will note that other stuff matters, including player motivation.

The Utes being underdogs is mind boggling and downright wrong. USC is a mess right now. I can't imagine them scoring more than 14 points on the Utes and you know Utah will at least get 3-4 short fields and score more than 14 points. I'm guessing the final score will be 18-14 with the Utes staying ranked #7

The Utes are still very very good. They're so great at developing new talent- if Covey had gone to BYU, he'd be backing up Koi Detmer Jr on the sidelines instead of returning kicks. They turned a skier into a kicker. And they have this new receiver Cameron Smith. He caught 3 passes from Wilson, one for a touchdown, and was the second leading receiver for the Utes last night.
