"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated" - The Rivalry Thread
One thing that might be overlooked in this discussion of content creators capitalizing on Cougar fans' desire for acceptance and praise is the fact that these podcasts and videos are constantly putting the BYU name out there. Who cares if they are doing it because of clicks, those clicks are important in today's world. The more clicks, the more exposure, the more exposure, the more opportunities to expand the university and its sports programs.
I don’t disagree, as I mentioned a couple posts ago. Just remember that the stripper isn’t actually into you.
Add these guys to the list. They discovered the BYU goldmine when they did a preview of the ECU game (one of the hosts played for ECU). Look at the comments. People trying to fly them to Provo already.

All of those universities listed have a much smaller alumni base than BYU (I just googled it). BYU's is larger than anyone in the conference with the sole exception of Arizona State, which is the largest University in the US.
None of this really negates my point. It's ok if you don't see it, that's part of it.
A benefit of the gold mine is that we get much better and more unique content. This ain't Jake Hatch taking 15 seconds to pronounce BYU and stating the obvious for 30 min every morning (I feel for him because there really isn't anything substantive to say for 30 min/day)

I tend to agree with your overall analysis. Of course, The Dude is right about our fanbase being large and active. But so many years wandering the college fb wilderness has caused that fanbase to treat the media's recent approval like mana from heaven.

So do Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Kansas State and Iowa State, but I don't see the same side quests being done by Big 12 content creators. It's entirely possible my algorithm just doesn't show those to me.
