Why not just take the best 12 teams? If a G5 team is ranked that high, great. If not, tough."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I would 100% agree with this if the polls weren't so easily skewed in favor of non G5 (and really non B10/SEC) teams. If there were no polls until after week 8, that might be something I would consider. But the way the SEC and B10 benefit all year long from overinflated pre-season rankings, I think it's not good enough to just tell a G5 team to earn its way in, as they essentially have to be better than necessary to overcome the bias.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I've recently had a change in philosophy/psychology when it comes to BYU football. I am so enamored with the system (and the results), that I'm refusing to let the possibility of missing the CFP affect my enthusiasm for the team. It's easy to be elated when you're 9-1...I get that. But in years past, I would have expected losses as a way to emotionally hedge. Not needed.
And for some reason (and I can't explain why), I'm not using this approach with hoops. I am a nervous freaking wreck all game. So, I've decide to work out if I'm getting worked up. Got a killer hour home workout in on Saturday, and then watched the last five minutes of the UCONN game time while I did wall sits and stability work.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

I agree with this. Right now it is a lot of fun to just really be in the conversation. Personally, I think BYU fans have a good case to whine if Bama, ND and Oklahoma get bids and BYU is left home, especially if BYU is competitive with Tech in the CCG. I think BYU really has a case with ND as the other two at least have wins as good if not better than BYU's win over Utah, but I think BYU has a better profile than ND right now. But even if BYU is snubbed again they will be a darling going into next year and I think their Big 12 schedule will be much easier next season than this season. BYU is well poised to continue to compete well in this brave new world.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostI've recently had a change in philosophy/psychology when it comes to BYU football. I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Buck up, you pansies. We are going to win out and then kick TT's butt in the CCG.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Good luck brother. I cannot imagine allowing the uncertain future impact how much you enjoy football. Especially a team like this one. But anxiety isn't something easily controlled, so I I'm pulling for you.Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostI've recently had a change in philosophy/psychology when it comes to BYU football. I think (hope) that the Committee remembers BYU getting the short end of the stick last year and gives us a make-up call this year over someone like ND. I looked at ND's schedule again yesterday, and they don't have any really quality wins. Their best attribute seems to be their close losses against Miami (??) and A&M.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View Post

Sounds like a great guy. I wonder what he means by "certain non-LDS demo groups"? I'm sure it is pretty innocent.
