While it pains me tremendously to say it, yes, I think Utah is a very good football team

What qualifies as a "good team" in your mind? They have a 4-2 record in conference (tied for 3rd) and a 7-2 record overall. Their two loses come against the no. 8 and no. 10 teams in the nation.

I guess they suck?

I think the entire top of the Big12 this year is at best middling.

BYU's best win: Utah at home. That isn't an impressive win at all.
Texas Tech's best win: Utah on the road. Also, not an impressive win at all. They also lost to a bad ASU team.
Utah's best win. ASU and Cincinnati. Neither are good teams.
Cincinnati. Not even sure what is their best win. They haven't beaten a team that would even be a top 50 team.
Houston. Same as Cincinnati.
ASU. Same as Houston/Cincinnati.

The plain fact is that the Big12 is really not good this year. Every ranked team is vastly overrated. Utah shouldn't be ranked. Cincinnati shouldn't be ranked. BYU and Texas Tech should be in the 20 - 25 range.

Utah's remaining games are against middling conference teams. Two are on the road but I don't see Utah losing them if they continue to play as they have. They really have a favorable schedule in conference play. I hope Funk is right though.

The most likely scenario is BYU is going to lose to Texas Tech, so you are going to have have a 1 loss Tech team and a 1 loss BYU team playing in the championship game. BYU beating Tech though, may make it much more likely that we could have a championship game holy war. Utah would have to win out and there would need to be a 3-way tiebreaker for second with Utah, Tech, and someone else.

Possible. But it might require Texas Tech to lose to BYU and possibly someone else since they would have the tiebreaker against Utah for their head-to-head victory.

Another possibility would be a three-way tie with 2 conference losses between Tech, Utah, and Arizona State. ASU beat Tech who beat Utah who beat ASU, so they would have to use some other tiebreaker for that (other than head-to-head).

I'm not familiar enough with the tiebreaker rules to know what would be best for Utah’s chances.
