So I guess Whitt is sticking around another year then? I'm sure we'll start to hear "Whitt can't leave now with the announcement of BYU's new funding" much like we heard that he couldn't leave last year because it was a losing season.

The crazy thing is that Utah had a great early signing class today. I wish we snagged all those O linemen.

or really good at sports. The problem is that both looks and athleticism fade with age, and then you are just a "big ol' dumbass" but maybe with some wealth from the looks or the athleticism.... oh wait, rich and dumb? is that acceptable?Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View Post
Interestingly, I learned recently that there is nothing wrong with being dumb as long as you are also good looking. Apparently lots of people are willing to accept that tradeoff.

Tbh, if anyone is a practicing Christian or even considers themselves a humanist, they should be looking to build people up instead of tearing them down through FU chants.

Here's what I know. There are two types of "f*** the Mormons!" chants. There's the one when their team is destroying yours, the crowd is bored, and so the chant starts up. (See Oregon circa 2022). Then there's the one when your team is destroying theirs, and they feel the need to do something to make themselves feel better. So the chant starts up. The former is somewhat annoying. The latter I almost enjoy. YMMV.

Like I said, I am a turn-the-other-cheek guy so too much whining on social media makes me uncomfortable. But I will definitely judge your fanbase.

20 years ago I attended the BYU vs. UNLV game at Sam Boyd Stadium. My friends and I went to the BYU alumni tailgate party in the parking lot. We were throwing the football around (not me, I can't throw -- only catch) and my friend made an off-target throw. The ball crashed into the area of several UNLV fans. Some older dude said under his breath "fuckin' mormons", as if no other fanbase had ever thrown an errant pass.
I have totally gotten over it, as you can tell.

I am just messing around. Also, I am dumb.
I am sure that telling a bunch of young, dumb sports fans to 'stop chanting offensive things' is for sure going to put the matter to bed and not fan the flames....

But by and large, this is a nothing burger. My whole life, in the rare occasion that I’ve bested someone, the two most common retorts from poor sports are commentary on my weight and religion. The religion thing has just never bothered me much. The weight thing has, and so I usually just say “well, how does it feel to lose to my fat ass?” And then I usually feel pretty good.
