Who said folks can't be friends? I'd venture most of the BYU fans on this board have plenty of friends or family that are Utah fans. It's toxic because there's a group of Utah fans that use their fanhood of Utah athletics as a platform for anti-LDS behavior.

If you think that my 2 brothers that graduated from Utah and are Ute fans are classless and if you think my dad that took his sons to Ute games and is a Ute fan is classless, I'm sorry but fuck you I'm not going to be your friend.

I don't have one single friend that is a Ute fan. There's no way I could do it. Some Ute fans from the ward invited me over to watch the game a couple years ago and I said hell no.

I watched 4th and 17 with a room full of Ute fans. It was absolutely miserable until it wasn't. I married into a family of Ute fans. Mrs. D accepted BYU and Christ into her life the day we got married, but her family has yet to see the light.

I'll always be a fan and wish him the best. Max was one of the nicest players I've met. I stopped him in a hotel in New Orleans the night broadened the Tulane game. He chatted up my (then 7 year old son) and then signed the brim of his BYU hat.

I'm surprised by the Ute fans I see dancing on his grave. The more hostile ones seem to be sympathetic while the quieter/more progressive ones are getting downright ugly with their comments
