I come from a different era in BYU football. My all time favorite player is Jimbo MFn McMahon. I hear all the time how the program at that time was all kinds of dirty when it came to covering up honor code violations. We all know Jim MFn McMahon's history. Max is my son's favorite player. I will tell you right now though, how I wish my son had a different idol, like JM...I'm having all kinds of trouble trouble with this thing with Max. He idolizes him...like I idolized JM. Too bad the manager was a spurned Sun Devil fan. Had he been a Coug, he could have rushed out and stopped the arresting officers, told them the HDMI cables were a gift, and chided Max for forgetting the spool of Monster Cable speaker wire (talk about expensive!) he then could have handed him.

I would really hope that the Coug would also have asked him to use those precious cables to become an honest man.

I like Max. He M.C.'d the giveaway at one of the Rex E Lee runs back in the day and was genuinely funny-- not BYU funny or playing to the crowd funny; it made me really respect his intellect. Some of the most talented people I know struggle with drugs-- and by struggle I mean are one act of indiscretion away from dying because of the grip they're in. For most it takes hitting the bottom of the barrel, but some can do it with a wake up call. Hopefully he can get help for the sake of his family before he winds up with a prison stint or he dies.
