    • Can someone please start a Houston thread before Harry Tic does? Thanks. Game is 4 days away, it's almost like a Tuesday night right now.

      • I will cut to the chase. I did send an e-mail to the shaggybevo admin (we admins stick together!) and asked him to do a little background check of the poster known as dallasviking. He quickly responded and it turns out that most of dallasviking's posts originated from Brazil, with a few coming from the NE US.

            • I'm not sure what "the eyes of Texas are upon you" mean, but they kept saying that last night.
            • Later last night, after we got back to the hotel, there was a commercial on TV with the tune, "She'll be Coming Around the Mountain" in it. I swear they played that at the game.
            • I didn't like the cannon being fired on the kick-off right behind our return guy.

That said, I'm sure when people come to LES, they often see us as quirky.
They really lack in atmosphere for a stadium/school of their size. Granted I parked west of campus, but there is generally little tailgating going on compared to SEC teams. They also have very little by way of traditions. Even crappy programs like Ole Miss seemed to have better traditions. I also can't believe the game wasn't sold out. I thought they had some sort of streak going but maybe Mack killed that. The fans were very cordial. I did find it odd that all the women dressed the same....but that's similar to any game in the south where the women wear sundresses and boots.

Overall the atmosphere was lame but the game was amazing. The best part was that traffic was relatively light after the game since most the stadium had left by then...
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Don't know, just saw it posted on CB. These are also great:

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I guess to find out we could ask the mods over at Shaggy Bevo. And hypothetically they might oblige. And then hypothetically we could confirm that DallasViking was posting from Brazil. And then hypothetically we could share those results here for everyone to see. And then hypothetically this issue could be resolved once and for all.

does this seem like a good idea? I for one would like to absolve the real Viking and this seems like a good way to do it. What does everyone else think?
I think I don't really care too much. I am sorry your mind is burdened by such things.
                            PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Agree that the atmosphere was less than impressive. The jet pack guy was lame. And obnoxiously noisy. And sort of pointless.

The best part of the stadium experience (apart from the game) was listening to the comments of the hard core 'horns fans sitting behind me (I was in a donor section) They were excited but that slowly gave way to concern and then went all out crazy in the third quarter. Talking about how to best commit suicide (i need a pill because I am too depressed to expend the energy to lift the gun). Talked about forgetting football and following volleyball, and so forth. They were pretty amusing and good spirited. Speaking of which, all the people around me were very cordial. Complementing the team and its performance and several stopped to tell me that they thought the fans in Provo had treated them better than any fans they had ever been around. A couple of times I commented that I was glad to hear it and wouldn't they love to have us in the B12 as members which comment drew blank and confused stares.

It was a great game to visit.
