That is very interesting, AV. Thanks for posting.

65-9 when favored. Unfortunately 4 of those losses are to the Utes.

12-7 when the game is viewed as 'equal'. That's a 63% win percentage for Bronco.

Whit is 11-5 when the game is viewed as 'equal'. 69% win percentage for Kyle.

Small sample size but Kwhitt really does seem get them up for those games in which they have "no chance".

On the other hand, in comparison to Bronco, he doesn't do a good job keeping his team motivated when they are favored by a significant amount.

What these numbers show me is that these two coaches, when all the numbers are compiled, are about even in terms of how they do against the spread.

The Ute players and coaches appear to get up for the big games but get overconfident against lesser teams while BYU players and coaches win the games they are favored to win but struggle to find the motiviation to overcome perceived disadvantages against better teams. Interesting, sociologically speaking.

These numbers pretty much confirm what most of us suspected. The Utes under Kwhitt are more more volatile than BYU under Bronco.

Utah has played five of those games, BYU six. Utah has one more win than BYU. It's not really a large sample size at all. Easy to swing one way or the other.

Right, small sample size. 40% goes to 60 or 20 for Utah and BYU's 17% goes to 33 or 0. Too big a swing for 1 game to draw any real conclusions.
