Ever since that time, he has been obsessed with hating those two teams. Every week he looks up how they did and cheers whenever they lose. As you may also know, he is both a BYU fan and a Texas fan. I love it.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      I hate Boise State.

I get irritated with their fans that live around here. I just want them to suffer through a losing year once. They think it's their birthright to get to go to BCS games every year.

The ones I know are circling the wagons this year. They think they might lose so they've been saying it's not a big deal, it's not a conference games, both teams aren't that great, etc.

I am sick and tired of losing to them. Three times is enough. It's time we beat them. Lets hope this is the week.

The low point of my BYU fandom was the absolute beating we took from Boise at home in the snow in 2003. It was our fourth home loss in a row, I was freezing and miserable, and our players seemed to want to be there less than me. It turns out Friday's game will be 5 days short of the 10 year anniversary of that debacle.

I doubt it will play out this way, but I would just love if we hammered them and gave them a run up the score beatdown. Like UCLA in 2009 bad.

That would definitely be cool. I love chanting "R-U-T-S, R-U-T-S."
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I hated to see the senior go out with a broken ankle but I agree with you...we are in a better situation to win with Hedrick. The kid did good with the dink and dump and homeboy has a decent set of wheels. He had a good showing for playing his first full game (Southwick broke his ankle on the opening drive) in four years. Apparently the kid has a good arm but he is not accurate with the long ball. That is why Coach Pete put the reigns on him. Essentially, he is a poor man's Taysom. Jay Ajayi is coming off a career night after being benched earlier in the season for losing two balls against Fresno. If Hedrick and Jay keep it rolling and Matt Miller creates havoc in the secondary I can see this being another Houston game for BYU and coming down to the wire.

The games I've been most upset leaving LES, in no particular order:

                2003 v Utah
                2003 v Boise
                2004 v UNLV
                2005 v Utah (finished my time in Provo 0-4 against the U; 99, 02-05)
                2011 v Utah
                2013 v Utah

The Boise game was bad. But I think I would rather sit through that again than 3-0.

3-0 was bad and definitely #2 on my list. But even though we we playing Jackson Brown at quarterback and couldn't gain a yard, there was effort on both sides of the ball. That alone made it less painful than the Boise game for me. BTW, #3 on my list is vs. Sunshine and CSU that year. 2003 should never be spoken of again.

That was my last fall at BYU. That really sucked to go out like that.

Any injury updates from Saturday? Mostly I am worried about Jamaal. All I saw was the tweet in game that it was a hip injury and he had ice on it. Was just a hip pointer?

Also, while Boise is in an obvious down year this game concerns me. We played a long, taxing game on Saturday. Taysom took some abuse. No doubt several of the players are feeling the effects of the pace and physical play. And now we have a short week to prepare for a Boise team that will have a completely different offense than we would have been preparing for with Southwick. Hendrick can run. He has a good arm but inaccurate downfield. I wonder if we won't see some plays where Patti rotates in (Patti was at the Elite 11 with Mangum IIRC). Bottom line, we have about a game's worth of tape on Hendrick and I am sure Petersen will be drawing up plays to his strengths. Also, I don't think much of Boise's defense, but their front gets a nice pass rush despite not handling the run very well. Given our pass pro issues that is concerning but I think this is a game we can win on the ground as long as Baby J can go. I expect our defense to play much better. I think they'll have something to prove after Saturday though they were only responsible for 30 points.

Should be a good game with a Friday night showcase. Wish I could be there.

I'm more worried about Bills than I am about JW. While Hine, Brown and Lasike are a dropoff from Jamaal, the secondary isn't the same without Bills.

While I don't subscribe to this vernacular (specifically the N in NWA), I would definitely say Taysom is someone with plenty of attitude himself, not unlike Eazy or MC Ren. I don't feel uncomfortable describing him as a brother who would smother your mother, or make your sister think he loves her.
