    I blame myself.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.

Well, that and I don't remember.

      Do spirits have blood?

I blame Taysom Hill. And Bronco. And, a little bit, Brandon Doman. And the Honor Code Office.

        The latter, mostly.

I blame you. You couldn't come up with a thread title so we're stuck with this weird story about BH Roberts? Really?

Dude, it's all on Joseph Smith. And Brigham Young. Especially Brigham Young.

I had two thread titles I was considering.

Bear in mind that this is probably going to get worse before it gets better. Junkie already laid claim to the Georgia Tech game with a thread a few weeks ago.

                Aw crap.

I'm still holding out hope for the USU game in a couple of weeks. Maybe you should start setting an example for the team by executing at a higher level and being prepared with a thread title as soon as this game ends Friday. Don't want to look too far ahead or anything.

I try to give you heathens a little bit of book-learning and this is the thanks I get? Sheesh.

I caught part of Criddle and Alema's show today as they talked to the beat reporter for MTSU. They have an under-sized line, with their DEs about the same size and speed as their DBs (6'3", 220-240). Their DLine was the weak link coming into the season and they keep flip flopping between running a 3-4 and a 4-3. Not for strategic reasons but based on personnel deficiencies.

Knock wood, but it should be an easy win. My worry is that the relative ease with which we should be able to run the ball will entice Anae to rack up the carries on the grounds that "it's working" and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." But this game gives us a nice chance to work on the passing game. Once we have a decent lead, I hope we get to the point that we can treat it as a glorified scrimmage and Taysom (and Apo, and Ridley, and those ghostly TEs I have heard rumors about) can exorcise some demons pre-USU.

So, back to their mascot. What do we know about it and why should I be afraid of it?

Book learning is for one of those threads in the Foyer. (OK, I'll admit it, the story was a little interesting...if obscure)

I think this means I give you an "amen".

I tend to think that BYU's going to have a long season if they don't figure out how to complete better than 35% in a game. So just throw it, throw it, throw it. Particularly if Williams is out. They can use "screen passes are really an extension of the running game" and keep throwing it when they need to run. But throw the ball!
And I'm completely serious. Throw it, throw it, throw it. I know this is overly optimistic beating MTSU shouldn't be taken for granted - but I could even live with a plan to run it until BYU is up by 10 points or better and then not run it again until/unless MTSU gets within a possession. Quite frankly - with how BYU has been playing, throwing the ball would mean being merciful and avoiding running up the score.

I did notice that MTSU has some DL in the 290 range on their roster - but many are freshmen. If they are mostly playing guys like you indicate from the interview, then maybe this is the game for a guy like Lasike to just rumble forward for 4-5 yards in a cloud of dust, followed by an occasional Hill keeper to the outside when they start to stack the middle.

But I hope not. I hope BYU uses this as an opportunity to pass it. A lot. Run different receivers through there and see who produces - who is able to make adjustments and catch a ball that is nearby but not to them. Throw it, throw it, throw it.

I doubt Anea deviates much off course. I get the impression from comments from the coaching staff that the team just hasn't picked up the system yet. Its just part of the learning curve. Repetition will cure all.

Maybe the blue horsey thing is one of his disguises.

In fairness, that may not be wrong.

I completely agree. I'm just not expecting a pass heavy scheme to give Hill/receivers practice and confidence.
