So Baby J is home and healing. Some reports estimating he will be out as a precautionary measure for up to 3 weeks. Given the atrocity of the ground game last night, I think he sits out Friday and comes back next week.

Can you guys quit bitching about the thread title so we can start breaking down the Blue Raiders?

For starters, can someone explain to me what this mascot is supposed to be? At first I thought it was a blue horse, but I am not sure.

Glad to hear it's not more long term. I love that kid.

Looks like they are averaging 196 per game on the ground and 205 through the air. I like BYU's chances to stop the run. I don't know why every team doesn't just come out throwing against this defense. I would.

Indy, glad you made it up for the game. It was cool just hanging out, bowling with the BB team, grabbing lunch at Bam-Bam's (thanks again for picking up the tab!), and then hitting the SLC discos after the game.

I told DDD and Lebowski you would probably deny it ever happened but if they're going to be jerks to you, let's rub it in their faces.

In fact, I am a lifelong mormon but until this thread I never knew that BH Roberts dressed as a hobo in the middle of Tennessee state.

                  There's the Winter Quarters Bowl:

I hope Bronco will remind the team of what happened in Tennessee all those years ago to fire the guys up.

Of course whenever we sing "Praise to the Man" in Sac Meeting, I lustily sing out the second verse as it originally read:

No doubt BYU fans will recall the suffering of their ancestors on the frozen tudra at Winter Quarters. Although, it will most likely be over 100 degress on Tom Osborne Field for the kickoff.

The game will also be Nebraska's opening home game. I think Nebraka holds the longest home opening win streak in college football. The last season Nebraska lost their home opener was to Florida St. in 1985. I think BYU could well end this streak.

Sorry, I didn't know you wanted to jump right into mascot discussion but that makes sense given that this is a short week.

Wasn't it game 5 in 2005 when Anea was forced to change to incorporate the run more? At what point will he be forced to change this year?

                            Rushing/passing attempts this year:

                            53/40
                            72/27
                            47/48

And the run/pass ratios were much more run heavy in the first 3 quarters vs UVA and Utah until BYU was forced to pass more when they fell behind.

Obviously it isn't about run/pass ratio. More about scheme. Indy, i really wish i had put you on ignore today on twitter. Depressing.
