I am right there with you. Now that I have a daughter at USU and they have a decent program, maybe I should become an Aggie fan.

Good news on J Swag.

PROVO, Utah (Sept. 22, 2013) — BYU sophomore running back Jamaal Williams suffered a concussion and severe stinger during last night's BYU vs. Utah football game at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Williams is doing well and has been discharged this morning from Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

He was taken to the hospital during the game to undergo imaging and other testing to eliminate concern of spine-related injury. He was alert and his condition continued to improve last night during testing. He was kept in the hospital overnight for observation.

The status for his return will be based on day-to-day progression and continued improvement throughout the week.

I don't know when the last time I wasn't as happy about a Utah win over BYU as I should be. I'll take the win, but what bothers me are really two things: Utah's inability to convert on 3rd down and the Utes not being able to stop BYU on a few 3rd and long situations.

I'm still irritated about the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter. BYU has 3rd and long - all Utah has to do is make a stop and it would have deflated BYU's spirit - but Hill completes the pass for first down then the next play breaks off a long run. Credit to Hill for getting it done, but it would have been game over right there had Utah taken care of business.

Ah well, I guess to paraphrase Billy, "That which we call a win by any other name ought to be as sweet, even if it isn't; I suppose I should just be happy about it, eh?"

How big was the J-Sor missed FG? He hits that and then you can kick a FG after the Falslev return. Then you're just playing for a FG at the end of the game. Of course if we were playing for a FG to win I'm sure it would have been blocked or hit an upright.

I wish he'd have hit it but I'm still pretty happy with the kicking game. It's vastly improved over last year.

I would say it was stupid and classless to throw thing at the refs, and makes BYU look bad ... but they deserved it.

BYU has had a serious problem developing QB talent since Beck graduated. Max Hall was largely the same guy as a sophomore as he was as a senior. Heaps regressed from his freshman to sophomore year. Nelson never improved. Taysom has regressed. It's a disturbing trend. Is BYU just recruiting guys who have already hit their ceiling, or is the coaching staff just utterly unable to develop talent?

It makes me worried that guys like Mangum, who won the Elite 11, aren't going to want to play here.

I know the read option is all the fad right now, but I just prefer a pro style offense I guess.
