The D played well overall. Utah converted 1 of 14 third downs. That said, the secondary allowed too many big passing plays.

You aren't going to lose many games when the opposing team converts just 1-14 on third down. BYU is basically inventing new ways to lose to Utah.

But this was totally expected. If someone would have told me BYU would hold Utah to 20 points. I would be satisfied. This offense... This offense for 4 years is... Is... Impossible.

One last comment from me before I hit the sack...Jacob, the team that won the turnover battle, won the game.

          Swish!

Before the game I gave my "what I'd like to see happen?" Here's my "what I'm afraid of":

Ridley will drop more passes than he catches (has this guy had a decent game since threatening to be a starter?). Check!

Get ready for the kicker to send one out of bounds on a kickoff and miss field goals. Partial Check!

Dres Anderson is going make Povey look silly...repeatedly. Partial Check (wasn't just Povey)

BYU will need to pass successfully to have a chance, Utah won't let them just run it. Check!

BYU will give up a bunch of turnovers. Whew! Lost the turnover battle, but that int actually helped with field position and didn't cause the loss.

BYU will give up an early lead and struggle to get back in it. Check!

                A couple of thoughts.

Wilson is a good QB. If he had a better offensive line he would look better. He will have a good career at BYU.

I think we are seeing why Taysom Hill got an offer from Stanford and why he transferred from Stanford. He is an incredible athlete, but he isn't a good QB.

Utah has more talent on offense and a better scheme.

BYU has a more talent on defense, but I'm not convinced they have a better scheme. Van Noy was great tonight, but didn't make any of the impact plays that he has made in the past, which really was the difference.

The much maligned Ute LBers played great tonight.

I'm obviously enjoying the win. I won't gloat because there are too many BYU fans I like (Flystipper, DDD, the poster former known as niku, the Dude, SMR etc.) even though it would feel good to gloat against junkie and KC.

Hill is a great athlete with wheels and a huge arm. His accuracy is pitiful and his decision making is just as bad.

I remember a lot of Ute fans freaking out with Whittingham not recruiting Hague out of high school. I think Whittingham made the right call.

He is a Blackhawks fan, which means he is good people.

Kaner, Toews (the best fucking captain in the NHL), Sharp (the most underrated player in the NHL), and the best and deepest defense in the league are about to storm their way to another Lord Stanley's Cup.

Hill can't throw...…wait for it.…….nope that is pretty much it. But he is worse when throwing on the run, like 10 times a math problem only Einstein could write and that darth vader talking wheel chair rolling mother effer could solve, worse.

Wilson had a fine night. QB play the obvious difference in the game.
