I think he will play at BYU but I am thinking the reality is he knew he would never play at Notre Dame. Probably more Scott Johnson than Craig Bills.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I realize that is a highlight reel, from 3 years ago no less, but I have a hard time believing Bills is 10x better than Badger."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Sorensen is gone next year, right? So his position is open. I don't know a lot about him, but I read his scout profile earlier and it said he had a reputation for big hits but didn't have great closing speed for a secondary guy. Sounds like an OLB candidate to me.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostWould he help this year? He hasn't practiced with the team and my guess is he is coming straight off his mission. Let him RS a year and then back up Bills at FS and Daniel at SS. Then he will know enough about the defense and had enough experience to be the FS, the veritable qb of Bronco Mendenhall's vaunted stripling warriors of the BYU defense!
God bless mission service and how it clouds your brain for your first 6 months home..and god bless those athletic decisions these kids make while under that cloud! So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Hard to overstate what a great player Bills was in HS. There is a reason he was selected at Mr. Football in 2008. How often is a safety selected as the best player in the state at any position?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? From the DH article that just came up:
While the Timpview reunion will certainly be a joyous occasion, one of the main reasons for Badger to leave the Fighting Irish isn't. Reports indicate that Badger's mother is ill and thus would be unable to travel to see her son play. Badger is said to be appealing to the NCAA for immediate availability and plans to walk on to the Cougar squad.
The 5-foot-11, 197-pound Badger played for Notre Dame before serving an LDS mission but did not see any game action in 2012. He was buried on the depth chart and had considered transferring before the season."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? He is 5'11" and 200lbs. I mean that is more than five foot nuthing weighing one hundred nuthin, but it ain't OLB material at OLBU, babee! The future of BYU's OLB is Hinds and Warner, IMO. I think Hinds will be like Alani Fua but I doubt it will take him 3 total years in the program to get a pooper that will enable him to defend the run at this level. I get hard nipples thinking about those two at OLB. Unfortunately, neither will likely be good until 2015. That is why I am thinking we see more DBs on the field next year.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostSorensen is gone next year, right? So his position is open. I think Robertson Daniel will take Sorenson's spot for next year, if he is still on the team. He was a safety at JC and I think the best 4 dbs next year will be Bills, Johnson, Daniel and Michael Davis.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

In this case, I think its being clearsighted. I loved going to school at ND, but I already had one of the beautiful daughters of Zion in tow. The pickings out there are pretty slim (even if you don't limit it to Mormon girls, actually).Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostWould he help this year? He could just make one up!Originally posted by Cougarmandias View PostIn this case, I think its being clearsighted. I went to school back east and I got married to a lovely daughter of the promise!
I think he is transferring for two reasons:
1.) He was never going to play at Notre Dame.
2.) His mother is ill.
I think he will and should RS at BYU this year. Then I think he can back up for a year. Then I think he will start for two years, but I doubt he makes us forget Craig Bills. He will be solid like the kid from Hawaii who was back there or Scott Johnson.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Yeah, smaller than I thought. Scout had him at 6'1" 194 lbs in HS so I was hoping he could get to decent LB'er size. Guess not.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostHe is 5'11" and 200lbs. well... no RS available (did he not RS at ND?), but he'll at least get 3 to play 3Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View Post
