Stanford is a decent team, but they are not a top 5 team. They've beaten some average teams but no one really of note. I bet this win ends up a lot like the BYU victory over Texas where we realize they just weren't really that good.....of course Texas killing OU is now putting that idea in jeopardy...Originally posted by USUC View PostAnd it took having home games stacked in their favor. They have played every game in Utah thus far. Only one away game halfway through November? How did they score that sweet deal?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Not only was I calling Georgia Techs plays before they happened. I pretty much called this Utah upset and DDD can verify.
I told him I felt like utahs front seven was good enough against a power running team like Stanford to give them trouble. Spread teams will give the Utes fits but power running teams they will do well against. I pointed this out before they sre similar to BYU teams with Cam jensen, Wagner, Staffieri, Poppings at LB. Big strong lbs that are stout against the run but slow sideline to sideline.

I can verify that when CJ predicted a GT play on offense, he was always correct.Originally posted by YOhio View Post

Stanford looked every bit a top five team last week against UW. They are one dimensional at times but they do that one thing very well.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostMaybe not a top 5 team, but a much better team than Texas.
The one thing I don't get is why they don't give Montgomery the ball more.

Lets revisit this at the end of the year. The season is only half way over. The PAC-12 conference took a hit with Utah's win. So far this year the narrative has been "the PAC-12 is the second best conference." Now its debatable. :stirthepot:Originally posted by mpfunk View PostMaybe not a top 5 team, but a much better team than Texas.Last edited by USUC; 10-12-2013, 11:26 PM.

Ucla and Oregon will beat the Trees. They will finish 9-3, and their position in the top 25 well be determined if they win their bowl.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostStanford looked every bit a top five team last week against UW. After watching the games last week, it was clear to me that UCLA was a better team than Stanford. Washington wore them down and they were lucky to get out with a win. I wasn't sure what our offense would be able to do with them, but i was sure that the Utes defense would be able to slow them down."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

But are you convinced Andrew Luck is a good QB yet?Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostNot only was I calling Georgia Techs plays before they happened. I pretty much called this Utah upset and DDD can verify.
