  • Mama is the best OL I've ever seen at the HS level. Granted, I haven't seen a lot of HS linemen outside of Utah and Washington, but he was dominant. If he chooses BYU I will be concerned about his weight, but if he can keep that under control, I will be very excited.
    I'm like LeBron James.

    • CJ, stop that. I don't want to get my hopes up.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Yeah. CJ and SM are trying to crush us on signing day. Set up for the inevitable fall.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I am only saying in years past BYU had the big recruiting weekend in early to mid-January. Recruits would commit and then trip to other schools and we would lose them at the last minute. Now they are coming the last weekend before signing day. Saturday at midnight the dead period begins. That means no contact from any coaches until signing day. BYU gets the last word.

SMR is correct Mama wrecks people and is the most dominant HS lineman I have seen. He is definitely a guard not a tackle at the next level as I see speed rushers giving him problems.

          • i will temper enthusiasm here and weigh in that SC still expects to sign this kid, along with JuJu and Adoree. That leaves them with one scholarship more to give.

                      • Please, for the love of all things that are awesome about BYU, don't let this young man do the dance during his visit.
                        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                        • So from what I can gather this is what each of the four schools has going for them:

USC - favorite team since childhood

UCLA - Xavier Su'a-filo has been advising him of the pros and cons of a mission.

BYU - flagship university of his religion.

Bama - uh... because it is Bama.

                          Interesting to see what happens.

also sc has commits that are his friends and are talking to him, trying to persuade him.

sc and ucla are in his backyard so his friends and family can come see him play all home games and one road game every season without incurring much trouble or expense.

byu and USC get his final two official visits, BYU gets his final visit.

As an SC fan and a BYU fan, which do you believe he chooses? It seems difficult to overcome childhood dreams and friendship.
