    Gary Crowton and Jeff Grimes

need to come back to BYU as OC and OL coach respectively. I don't care if Brandon Doman stays as on the staff as I still think Doman can be a good OC in time.

Auburn hired a JB Grimes as its new OL coach and I don't think Jeff has been hired anywhere. Crowton has gotta be cold a witch's tit in a cast iron bra up in Winnie-Pig. It is a good snow year for Utah slopes. Crowton's career has pegged and he is in a downward slope, lets bring him home for a decade. Grimes loved it here, he said so when he left.

The absolute last thing BYU needs to do is rehire Crowton as OC. The natives are restless enough and Crowton has more baggage than a 18th century French aristocrat.

The natives are morons, some of them still probably think Mendenhall chose to play Nelson this year to hurt their feelings. BYU's biggest defeciency, I think from what I can see, is that quarterbacks are not developing. I think a tired, old mature Crowton who sees his career marching toward retirement and whose chances at either HC or a good OC gig have ended could bring some maturity and qb development to BYU. I think Grimes liked Crowton and would come back to work for him.

The natives only want to win, likely more than BYU can win, but winning will shut them up some.

Trust me folks when Indy takes a position on Gary Crowton and I take the opposite, history is more on my side than it is in a Great Britain vs la Argentina war.

I would be on board with that. Especially Grimes.

Could we afford to pay them? It would be an act of charity for both of them to come to BYU to coach--more so for Crowton, considering how he was treated on the way out.

Crowton is the OC in freaking Winnipeg, the exchange rate alone is probably killing him. Even BYU rates are likely competitive for him.

Grimes would likely cause BYU to open the purse strings more than it wants.

The fact that someone is wanting Crowton to return as OC is a sign of just how over the barrel BYU is with coaching prospects.

likely true, but the point is to improve things not sit and whine. Crowton would be at least an average college OC and a fabulous college QB coach.

That's some pretty bold talk after your B12 and Jabari predictions both crashed and burned.

Are you talking about the US/Cdn dollar exchange rates? If so, you probably haven't looked at the exchange rate in about 10 years. The Canadian dollar is worth about the same as the US currently.

If you are talking about CFL to College football, you are probably right. My old neighbor played in the CFL for a while and from what I heard, his checks wouldn't always clear or they would be delayed, etc. I doubt Crowton would be taking a pay cut coming back here as OC.

I would absolutely love if Grimes came back.

Damn good idea. Let's get someone in here with proven experience. I think the program is big enough that we don't have to continually have on the field try outs.

On one hand Crowton might think, great a cushy job where even if we go to a bowl game I only have to work 3 of the 5 weeks ahead of the game. On the other hand he might decide, I am going to prove to the f'en media and fans I am and was a dang good co-ordinator.

Don't let Indy poo poo the idea. He is still hurting from riding the Crowton train off of the cliff and he blames Crowton not himself.

I always thought Crowton could be a good OC. HC is just not his role and he tried to do too much. I do think he needs to abandon some of his concepts that require YAC and stifle the razzle-dazzle in favor of more traditional BYU concepts that utilize more basic west coast concepts. I think he can and I think he could be pretty good at it and ride it to a BYU retirement.
