It would have been much better if Nebraska had decided to play football in the 4th quarter against Georgia. I'm tired of the S-E-C chants as well. What brings me peace of mind is remembering the cyclical nature of college football and the days when the Big 8/Big 12 would crush the SEC.

Florida also needed a blocked punt with 2 seconds left to stave off Louisiana Lafayette.

I'm not buying the "they didn't want to be there" card. Who doesn't want to be in the Sugar Bowl?

The didn't want to be there card is what you play when you got nothing else. I am ungodly sick of the SEC chants, as I just don't understand rooting for your rivals. I am not going to chant SEC for Florida, Auburn, LSU or Tennessee because I hate those bastards.

Ahem.. The SEC is now 3-3 in bowl games and 0-1 in BCS bowl..

Here's hoping the Sooners help put them at a losing record and (I can't believe I am going to say this because I will refuse to listen to Mike&Mike and his ungodly ND worshipping) ND to ensure they don't go .500...

So you're saying Ole Miss still has a chance?

Bowl season is always interesting. Does one root for a rival against a top team from another conference? Wouldn't it be better for Bama if Texas A&M soundly defeated OU in the Cotton Bowl so the Tide's loss to the Aggies doesn't look so bad? Remember, there's also the undefeated Buckeyes out there that might claim AP votes and split the national championship.

I would always cheer for conference rivals during the OOC schedule knowing that it was better to defeat (or lose to) a highly ranked team than a good team with a couple of OOC losses. During bowl season, I would cheer for conference rivals realizing it was better for my team if they won since it would make those conference victories or defeats that much more meaningful. And that included cheering for BARRY FU&#ING SWITZER.

I usually rooted for Switzer but couldn't bring myself to root for the Buffs in their fake national title run.

Good point. I can't remember if I cheered for the Buffs in 1990. Maybe. They did get screwed the year before against Notre Dame in their bowl so maybe I took pity. That's beside the point though. I think I specifically referenced conference rivals and Colorado never fit that criteria. Utah can have them though.

Who's idea was it to schedule a voluntary meeting during the game?
                    Oh yeah, it was me.

I know it has been over 15 years since this started, but I'm still not used to the big bowl games being spread out over a week. I forgot about last night and tonight's games and I missed all of the Sugar bowl because of it. I kind of miss the days of getting it all done on the 1st.

                        One point safety. There's a rule I didn't know.

                          Ha. The ever-so-rare 1-point safety.

If KSU had fumbled and it had been recovered in the EZ by Oregon, would it have scored as one point or two?

Shaka learned it by watching Riley Nelson in high school.
