Bearly a Chance to win the Conference - Utah vs Cal

    Borrowed from utefans:

Utah has to win remaining 5 games to go 5-4 in conference.

USC has to lose all 4 conference games remaining to go 4-5 in conference (at Arizona, Oregon, ASU, at UCLA) to be 4-5.

ASU has to beat USC, then lose all other games (UCLA, at OSU, WSU, at Arizona) to be 4-5.

UCLA has to beat USC and ASU and lose all other games (Arizona, at WSU, Stanford) to be 4-5.

Arizona has to beat USC, UCLA, and ASU and lose to Utah and lose (or win) vs Colorado to be 4-5 (or 5-4) [Utah beating Arizona would give Utah head-to-head tiebreaker if same record]

Colorado just needs to have at most a 4-5 record (or 5-4, if they beat Arizona so Utah would have tie breaker over Colorado). They play at Oregon, Stanford, and Washington for other games with 1-3 current record (1-4 with Utah loss).

Most everything is possible, although WSU beating ASU and UCLA seem a long shot right now.

Our hope can still be alive by gametime if UCLA beats ASU and Arizona beats USC Saturday afternoon.
at least there is a chance infintesimal as that may be.

Utes opened as 2 point favorites.

Searching for anything positive at this point, I was impressed with Travis Wilson, he played about as well as a Freshman could play on the road in a big game. I'd give hime a B- for Saturday. Except for 5 or 6 drops and the two INT's he looked pretty good, I thought.

thoughts/keys to Utah winning the game.

                Utah needs to score points.

Too Often since Wilson took over Does Utah have a nice drive only to either have a turnover or a missed FG. Time to have game where they 4 or 5 tds on offense

Utah needs to win the turnover margin

Was the last turnover Utah got against USC in the first quarter?

                Stop the Run
Making Maynard face multiple 3rd and longs is the only way Utah will stop Cal's offfense.

Utah hasn't made a FG since the BYU game. Has there ever been a Pac-10/12/6 team that went Fg-less in conference play? Look out record books!

I think Utah will thump these guys. I think it's probably 10-14 points, but will be more dominating to visualize.

Depends on how you count the muffed kick for 7 in the UCLA game.

Technically, I don't believe it is a turnover, but it is as good as one.

What's more astonishing is that we haven't had a pick since the BYU game.

Yeah that's a turnover, I forgot about that one. I should change it to:

Utah Defense hasn't forced a turnover since the 1st quarter of the USC game. Additionally they have only 2 interceptions all year.
