Star L actually did really well in eating up multiple blockers and if they ran up the middle, star was there. That said, usu ran a ton of bubble screens and Quick hitches to negate Utah's d line advantage. It worked really well.

About what our probability is of making the Rose Bowl.Originally posted by Brianmy point, is that the season isn't over after one loss. In fact it isn't over even with an 0-3 non-conference start to the season. The probability isn't high, but it isn't 0.0.
I'm playing around, really. It's nice to be able to lose a game like this (or two, after next week
) and still have BCS chances. And yeah, there obviously are teams who've turned it on after a bad start. Of course, they're usually not verbalizing it. If we take crap for our slogan a few years ago, you can take it for talking Rose Bowl after losing to Utah State.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

no he was in the elite 11Originally posted by Portland Ute View PostNo. We don't have an Elite 11 QB. He was, IIRC, a "candidate" to be an Elite 11 QB.

That said, he is still a frosh and having to choose between Jon Hayes and a frosh is not a great choice.

I think the Aggie guy fell down after Murphy pushed him. Murphy might not know his own strength, the Aggie may have tripped, or even dived, but I bet that influenced the ref.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI didn't see PI on the last play either. Christopher fell down. The bigger issue was throwing on first and goal from the 6. Or throwing a jump ball to Christopher instead of Scott. Call on Murphy was not bad because it was totally incorrect, but just because it is a remarkably rarely called penalty and the contact was pretty light.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think Hays is serviceable. I thought he was solid last year. I've always thought Wynn was vastly overrated. Don't listen to Norm Chow, he is full of shit nowdays.
Kenneth Scott is an amazing athlete, I don't see anyway he doesn't cause BYU problems. You've got Devonte Christopher and Dres Anderson too. White is great but why give him 27 grueling carries? Couldn't they spell him with Langhi or York (is Yord redshirting?)
The U DLine is great, USU outschemed them they didn't out muscle them. They will give BYU problems. I was not super impressed with the U.s linebackers, they looked slow.
The U's OLine got owned. That shocked me. USU has a decent rush end but I didn't expect the pressure they brought.
Keeton is a nice qb but I'm not ready to say he is better than Riley. And no way in hell is Kennedy better than Riley. Williams is a good scat back.
Gary Anderson may be the best football coach in the state. He has quietly been stockpiling talent and building up on it. There is also more high school talent to go around in the state and be shared by the football powers.
BYU will have a tough time against the U. and USU looks like a bowl team.

Whether he did or not, that touchdown pass was an effortless little flick of 50 + yards that reminded me a lot of the guy we just got here in DC. I mean that strictly in terms of the kind of arm he has.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostWilson got invited to the camp but didn't make the Elite 11. That's what I remember anyway.

Sorry about the offensive posts last night. I caught the 4th quarter and overtime only after a few drinks at the bar. It was fun seeing the Utes lose and I got carried away.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Maybe if you can't handle your booze any better than that you ought to consider if you have a problem.

yeah, i remembered that later. Either way, not sure what happened between getting wynn in 2009 and then Wilson 3 years later.
Also, Wynn is done, right? I mean that is 4 shoulder injuries in 22 career starts. He should just concentrate on school.
