I am test driving it for the season. I will return it to you if it doesn't suit me."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

Here are my responses:Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostTwo weeks to game time, and many questions to be answered..
1. How will Brian Johnson's offense play out?
2. Will true freshman Cedrick Potausi start at left tackle?
3. Will NC's offense cross the 50 without the benefit of a return or penalty?
4. Will an athletic but young linebacker corp gel early in the season?
5. Will Jordan Wynn remain upright while in the game?
While Montana State was a talented FCS team with several skilled players, the Bears of Northern Colorado are a bad, bad team. In essence this is a scrimmage that our 3rd string should beat. I see this game as nothing more than a shakedown cruise for the ready of the season.
1. awwww hell, I don't give a crap.
I am having a harder and harder time getting into these preseason games.
OK, OK, (slaps self in face a couple of times) I am trying to get into it here.
1)I hope that BJ calls at least two, no, make it 5 reverses, and I hope that at least 2 go for BIG gains, just to freak the hell out of the fan base that he is a closet Ludwig acolyte.
2) I would like a left tackle who can keep Jordan Wynn off the ground to start. If that is a true freshman, that would be cool.
3) I would like to see NC cross the 50 depending on the coin toss. I would like as much action to happen close to the end zone where I will be sitting.
4) Next I would like to see an offensive line gel earlier in the season more so than the linebacking corps. I think that with the secondary (especially when Blechen returns) and the D-line the Utes have could make a one armed man look like a great linebacker. In fact it would be a great time to get an amputee linebacker on the squad if the Utah wants to be a college football first.
5) If JW goes down I think I will poo my pants out of frustration for the poor kid. After I clean up, I will probably go online and call him a wussy and stuff, and demand that BJ start Wilson.Last edited by wally; 08-16-2012, 01:18 PM.

I read this post, really enjoyed the "poo my pants out of frustration" snippet, and immediately thereafter clicked back and saw another thread titled "The Juice is Loose."Originally posted by wally View PostHere are my responses:

I am just a tad frustrated that "sassypants" hasn't caught on yet. But I'll stay with it.
Apparently, sassypants didn't practice today. Shoulder pain. Just precautionary. He's really 100%, and all that. I think we've heard this song before.
As Belinda Carlisle once said, "There's an ache in my undercarriage, and it's starting to grow stronger." Or something.

This may have been a bad move for Wynn. It gives Hayes and Wilson a chance to shine with the 1s/2s (which they apparently did).

My unsolicited advice: Use Wolfman sparingly if at all. He goes down against a cupcake and you turn the running game over to a JC transfer with a bad wheel. As Wolfman goes, so goes the Utes fortunes. It seems sassypants is the big concern going into camp when really I see the season hinging on the health of one John White XVIII."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Our running back stable is in much better shape now than in 2002.Originally posted by Top Ute View PostYou gave me flashbacks of the 2002 season when Marty Johnson went down."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

Talent? Yes. Experience? No.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostOur running back stable is in much better shape now than in 2002.
I think if York (JC kid right?) is healthy you won't miss a beat and it sounds like some youngsters are impressing in fall camp."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

York is 100%. Oliver is a player to watch. He will be the workhorse when York leaves. I suspect we will see lots of him in two weeks.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostTalent? Yes. Experience? No.
