I was hoping to see a team capable of splitting our four road games, but after last night I think we're lucky to get one. D is sure capable, but not sold the O is capable of anything other than tcu/tulsa repeats -- not good enough at rb, not good enough at qb. Sure nice to see a te though. But there's probably a good chance several of those teams aren't as good as I think they are right now.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I don't think all four of our Big Four are going to be all they're cracked up to be, to be honest. ND and Boise State in particular... and I don't know a thing about G.Tech.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was hoping to see a team capable of splitting our four road games, but after last night I think we're lucky to get one. Can you imagine being the receiver and seeing THAT across from you for a bump? Did anybody piss themselves?Originally posted by Shaka View PostI didn't see a blitz the entire night. One thing I thought was funny is that the lined Ziggy up at corner a few times. I assume they were trying to give the receiver a quick bump before a route. The regular corner was lined up about ten yards back which essentially gave us three safeties. The cool thing is Ziggy is fast enough that he can get back inside a bit and contain the edge.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

I think you're probably right. The sequencing of those games is still ugly though and will take a lot out of the team.Originally posted by Commando View PostI don't think all four of our Big Four are going to be all they're cracked up to be, to be honest. Ziggy was on the field a ton last night and it's amazing how much he's improved. Weren't Foote and Ziggy supposed to be internet legends that would never make a meaningful contribution at BYU?Originally posted by nikuman View PostCan you imagine being the receiver and seeing THAT across from you for a bump? I was impressed with the D, very impressed. First game so I am not sure it is how good they are or maybe WSU is typical of the lower half of the PAC12, awful.
I liked the offense in the first half, but somewhere through the 3rd quarter I fell asleep and was surprised to see how little we scored in the second half. So I will have to wait and see how much I like the O. I am not knocking it, just not enough information.
My brother called me just before the game. This is the brother who used to bother me to death calling me every day leading up to a game and wanting to talk hours on the team. He asked if I could believe both of us weren't going and he really wasn't even that psyched for the game. I told him I was finally excited to see the game, but it did seem weird how far our level of enthusiasm has fallen. I was really surprised he was going to have to watch the game alone. His kid who plays on a HS team had left to do homework with a friend.

I don't know why you would say that based on last night's game. The offense put up 30 points fairly easy and didn't play well. They can easily get better with some simple adjustments.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was hoping to see a team capable of splitting our four road games, but after last night I think we're lucky to get one. They squandered opportunities in the red zone. They had too many penalties. Their best offensive player and QB's clear favorite target was out for most of the game. All things they can clean up without much trouble. All that and they only punted once. Even without Hoffman - and that is a BIG deal - they could have easily scored 45 points last night.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 08-31-2012, 07:42 AM.I'm like LeBron James.

Game PER comparison:
Riley - 154.3
Hill - 581.2
lol. No comparison. I think Bronco should open up a QB competition and give Taysom a crack at the starting job. Hopefully he takes it over by midseason. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Because the RB's and QB didn't look good enough. But I also think there's a pretty decent shot that at least two of those four just aren't going to be nearly as good as I'm anticipating.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostI don't know why you would say that based on last night's game.So Russell...what do you love about music? All the QB and RBs did was move the ball at will all night. So I guess I can see why you would say that. Oh and the QB did it without his best player and favorite target all while overcoming too many stupid penalties.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostBecause the RB's and QB didn't look good enough. Perhaps you're thinking Hoffman will be out all year and they won't be able to fix the penalty or red zone issues. If so, I can see where you're coming from.I'm like LeBron James.

Any update on the Hoff Man? In post game, Bronco said it was a deep thigh bruise, which is to be expected after a helmet mashes into your leg. His absence in the second half changed the look of our offense. I'd rather he rest against weber if need be and be healthy for Utah.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

No update. But I would rather he rest too this week and be 100% for Utah.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAny update on the Hoff Man? He went out early in the first quarter. Why do you think it took clear to the second half for his going out to change the look of the offense?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAny update on the Hoff Man? The running backs are not the problem per se, but the run blocking is. The poly lineman who was beating the lineman like a tin drum made BYU look silly. And WSU far from the most talented team it will face.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was hoping to see a team capable of splitting our four road games, but after last night I think we're lucky to get one. BYU looks a bit better than last year but the Oline is the key to its failure and success. Splitting the away games may be a big chore for this team."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
