OL (Meyer said in his interview that he still didn't like to see the jiggling going on and wants them to work more on that.. They look A LOT better compared to last year already..) #77 is Reid Fragel (6"8 300) who was a TE but converted to Tackle. He'll be good just needs to learn it quickly..

RB Rod Smith. Ran into some fumblitis last year and hope he can get back into the rotation. He is a beast at 6'3 235:

Am very excited about the notion of our TE being much more involved in the offense.. One thing I think Ohio St. has recruited well and can continue to recruit well is big guys in the TE position.

The Shoe is getting a new Scoreboard.. And in size we go from #21 to #5!!! Of course everything in Texas HAS to be bigger.. Godzillatron at Texas Stadium is the largest scoreboard..

Ohio Stadium to get a new high tech scoreboard

This fall, fans will be treated to a high-tech sight and sound experience unlike anything presented on a football Saturday in Ohio Stadium. A $7 million improvements project will replace the 11-year-old Ohio Stadium scoreboard and audio system with a larger, high-definition screen flanked by two clusters of speakers with new LED ribbon boards running the length of the South Stands. The project will commence April 23 with a completion date set for early August.

The new HD, Panasonic scoreboard will be 42-feet-by-124-feet. The current scoreboard is 30-by-90 and is not HD and will utilize Surface Mount Diode LED technology that will provide a sharper, clearer and brighter picture with extra wide viewing angles of over 140 degrees.

Sound in the stadium will be significantly, if not dramatically, improved as a Pro Sound line array audio system will cluster a total of 25 speakers on each side of the scoreboard for improved directional sound. Additionally, speakers under the various decks of the stadium will be environmentally refurbished; older speakers will be replaced with new speakers fitted into the existing framework. A clearer, crisper and, in some cases, more intelligible audio sound will be present in all parts of the stadium this fall.

The new South Stands ribbon boards 4-feet-by-170-feet will display statistics and scores, and will include a section designated for closed captioning.

The improvements project will also include the conversion of 223 standard televisions to high-definition sets in all public areas, concession stands and concourses.

Nice article from a player under Urban Meyer..

I like the story about John Fairbanks:

On that note, I’d like to tell you about John Fairbanks (our long snapper during my time at Florida) John’s family moved from California to support his decision to come to the Gators as a walk-on. After seeing Fairbanks’ dedication to our team, hard work and display of good moral character, Urban awarded him a scholarship that ultimately helped pay for his Master’s program. The spring semester after John’s final season, his scholarship was still awarded despite the fact he was no longer an asset to the team. During his time at UF, Fairbanks married his wife and had a son. Coach Meyer always treated John’s wife like family and ensured his son could come to any of our practices. That’s just one tiny example of Coach Meyer’s kindness and good nature, but there are plenty more before and after.

I’d like to conclude this article with my personal feeling on the kind of man Coach Meyer is. On Christmas night I was involved in a car accident which I lost a cousin and best friend, and subsequently my football career. Two days later I received a call from Coach Meyer checking to make sure that I was physically and mentally OK, to express his condolences, and told me that if I needed anything to just give him a call. Now I wasn’t a first round pick and I’m not in the NFL making millions of dollars, I was an average player who busted my hump to turn my life around and capitalize on the opportunity I had been given by Coach Meyer.

FB Zach Boren: Dude is a beast and I am excited to see what he can do. He has always been that FB blocker prior to this year but the times he has had the ball he has done good things.. I look forward to the new roles of the FB and TE's..

Hinton coaches fullbacks and tight ends, the new wild cards in the offensive deck. The fullbacks will be playing a lot like H-backs, and the tight ends will often operate from the slot, and vice versa.

“It’s an exciting offense,” Boren said. “We’re just running and going. It’s all about making plays and letting people get the ball in their hands and try to do what they can.

Ohio St. 2012 football class.. Look forward to seeing how they do.

I am very interested in seeing how Armani Reeves is used.. I know he is listed as a Cover corner, but I hope they pull a Chris Gamble and put him on Offense as well.

With a 4.35 speed how can you not use him (Watching his clip on this video confirms how good he could be)..

Some video of the Spring Game this past weekend.. Sold over 81,000 seats for the game. But I am not sure that many showed up. It was pretty full so I'd guess it was around 70,000. But considering it was raining and in the 40's that is a pretty good turnout for Urban's first Spring Game..

One thing the crowed really got pumped about was the "Circle Drill". This is where they pit players against each other at the center of the field.. My wife (Who went) said it was pretty cool.. Here is a video of it..

Last fight was Braxton Miller vs. Guiton (Back up QB). Guiton blows Miller out.. Miller didn't lok ready to do this..

One thing that was cool was the fact Freshman WR Michael Thomas had a huge game. I think 13 caths for over a 130 yards.. That is more than all our Wr's combines last year... Good things to come..

                              Highlights from teh game:

Urban was on the field the entire game behind the QB.. This is very new and was pretty cool. In fact he had a whistle and was at times making the offense run plays again if he saw something he thought they needed to work on.. One thing that was cool was he stopped play and ushered the kicker on the field to kick a field goal. He had him kick a short one and then moved him back and back all the way to make a 53 yard FG.. The crowd got into it..
